One killed, one seriously injured in Uxbridge after police chase stolen car
One person has died and another is hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-car crash on Route 22 in Uxbridge this afternoon involving a stolen car that police were pursuing, police said.
One person was airlifted to UMass Memorial Hospital and another was taken to Milford Hospital by ambulance, Northbridge Police Sergeant Shawn Heney said.
The crash happened in front of a duplex on South Main Street in Uxbridge around 3 p.m., the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester reported.
Heney said his department received complaints of an erratic driver, but when officers attempted to stop the car the driver sped off. Northbridge and Uxbridge are adjacent to each other. Heney said the car had been stolen from Providence, R.I.
The crash involved a Ford Explorer with Rhode Island license plates and a Toyota pickup truck, the Telegram & Gazette reported.
