Authorities are investigating the death of a 29-year-old New Hampshire woman whose body was found early today lying on railroad tracks underneath the Massachusetts Turnpike overpass in Brighton.
The name of the woman was not released pending notification of next of kin, according to State Police.
The circumstances of the woman’s death remain under investigation by State Police and Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office. A cause of death is pending an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office.
The woman is believed to have fallen from the Mass. Pike overpass onto the CSX Railroad tracks around 11:45 p.m. Monday. A Massachusetts Department of Transportation worker discovered the woman’s body around 1 a.m. today and then alerted authorities.
