Not a material girl Don’t get the wrong idea about Natasha Bedingfield from the name of her tour (“Less Is More’’) and her third studio album (“Strip Me’’). Shore thing Between 1870 and 1930, the North Shore art scene had more crunch than a fried clam. Artists from America and Europe including Winslow Homer, Childe Hassam, Maurice Prendergast, and Edward Hopper were inspired by the fishing communities of Cape Ann and the beaches in Lynn and Swampscott. Jim McAllister will talk about these people and places at “Art and Artists on Boston’s North Shore.’’ June 8 at 7:30 p.m. $10. Waterline Center, 66 Main St., Essex. 978-768-6441. www.essexshipbuildingmuseum.org![]()
