Louise Kennedy

Louise Kennedy, the Globe’s chief theater critic, has worked as a writer and editor here since 1988. Before assuming the critic’s chair in 2006, she spent five years writing feature stories about Boston theater, an experience that provided many valuable insights into the local scene -- and was sometimes far more illuminating than the task of sitting in judgment on opening night.

Louise has a history degree from Yale College and was an extra in a prep-school production starring a more talented fellow student, Dana Delany.
