Starving Secrets With Tracey Gold 10 p.m., Lifetime
The title of this new reality show is awful, and misleading. It leads you to wonder if the series has former “Growing Pains’’ actress Tracey Gold delivering advice on how to starve yourself. In fact it is the opposite, as Gold, who has openly battled anorexia, reaches out to women who are dealing with eating disorders. In the 1994 TV movie “For the Love of Nancy,’’ Gold played an anorexic college student.
The Take 9 p.m., Encore
Tom Hardy stars in this 2009 British miniseries, which Encore is encoring now that Hardy has a Hollywood profile thanks to “Inception’’ and the forthcoming “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.’’ He plays a nasty, out-of-control guy, which is Hardy’s stock in trade, who is trying to climb the gangster career ladder. Brian Cox plays the mob boss who’s growing weary of Hardy’s temper.
