Have you resolved this year to reduce the clutter in your closet and/or your home? British decluttering consultant Mary Lambert’s “Living With Less: How to Downsize to 100 Personal Possessions” (CICO) can help. Lambert is a gentle taskmaster, suggesting a 12-month timetable. It’s a relief to see that she excludes books and household items from her 100-item goal. Clothes account for 70 percent of the personal possessions she targets, but the goal is not as strict as it might sound. She allows all the shoes you own to be grouped as one item. Her mantra: “Love it, use it, or lose it.”
