This is a big week for innovation in Boston: Eight conferences, a gubernatorial proclamation, and enough launch parties, after-parties, and after-after parties to keep you well fed (and hydrated) well through the weekend.

Tonight, forward-looking marketing conference FutureM kicks off with Radio BDC’s own Adam XII DJing the opening night party.

Tomorrow, Scott Kirsner’s Entrepreneurs Grill hits the road and goes live at 1:30, where Kirsner will conduct three back-to-back-to-back sessions where aspiring entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas to three seasoned investors, and I’ll be joined by WeFunder founder Michael Norman for a panel on the changing face of crowdfunding. If you’re not able to make it out to FutureM, both events will be live streamed here on Boston.com, just check out The Hive.

Later in the evening, after months of anticipation, we’ll find out the MassChallenge winners.

The week got a nod from the The Washington Post, though Emi Kolawole tempered the highlight with some tough words.

”The state, particularly Route 128 around Boston has a storied history when it comes to tech innovation. But the region has largely been surpassed — or, as The Post’s Vivek Wadhwa has written — ‘left ... in the dust’ by Silicon Valley,” wrote Kolawole. “The region’s highly ranked universities, including MIT and Harvard, have contributed to a maintenance of at least some of the state’s innovation muscle.”

Given that MassChallenge alumni from 2010 and 2011 alone have raised over $250 million in funding, the state must be doing at least something right.

Other Innovation Week conferences include EmTech MIT, IDEAS Boston; Xconomy Forum; EU-US eHealth Marketplace; TiE Boston; and Boston Region Entrepreneurship week. More details are available from the Governor’s Office.
