Love big plays as much as you love big data? Then come join The Hive and Hacks/Hackers for an NFL Hackathon at the Boston Globe on Jan. 19.

The hackathon will be based on data released by AdvancedNFLStats, which includes every NFL play since 2002 up through the end of the regular season this year, as well as other data sets we can cobble together before then.

Tentative Details:

When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 9 a.m. til 5 p.m.

Where: Boston Globe, 135 Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester, MA, right off the Red Line.

What: Hang out with cool people while playing with a big data set of NFL plays.

RSVP: Meetup.com

Questions? Ideas?: Hive@Boston.com

And read up on a baseball hack day The Globe hosted last year, which ended up producing some very cool apps.
