Game 2 had the most expensive average ticket price of the games played so far
The average ticket price on the secondary market to see Game 2 at Fenway Park (pictured) was $1,212, according to TiqIQ. That’s the most expensive average ticket price of all the games that have been played. Too bad the Red Sox lost.
Game 6 has the potential to break that record if the average ticket price of $2,055 stands. The get-in price for this game has risen 77 percent since the start of Game 5, and the average price has risen more than 26 percent over the same period, TiqIQ, said.
Game 2 of the 2010 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers had an average ticket price on the secondary market of $1,786, TIqIQ said. That series had the highest secondary market average ticket prices of any World Series in recent years.
Game 6 is also now comparable to the 2013 Super Bowl between the Baltimore Ravens and San Franisco 49ers, which had an average price of $2,199 and a get-in cost of $1,062, TiqIQ said.
