THE PICK: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the group in charge of Internet addresses, has named Fadi Chehade as CEO. The appointment is tentatively set to begin Oct. 1.
ABOUT CHEHADE: He’s not well known or well versed in the organization’s core tasks, but he has experience in building consensus — something ICANN strives for in approaching contentious policies.
HIS PAST: In the early days of e-commerce, he persuaded leading tech companies to collaborate on a system called RosettaNet for exchanging data, even as they competed for customers.
