New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. of Boston is forming an alliance with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, the two companies said Wednesday.
As part of the collaboration, New Balance becomes the official athletic shoe of Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the companies said in a press release.
New Balance added that it has created a men’s and women’s limited edition “runDisney 860v3” running shoe that “captures the spirit of two favorite Disney characters - Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse,” the release said.
With a global headcount of more than 4,000 employees, New Balance reported 2011 sales of $2.04 billion.
