Verizon Wireless says its 2012 investment in its New England network topped $250m
Verizon Wireless said that it completed $256 million worth of enhancements and upgrades to its wireless network in New England during 2012.
According to the company it has been “aggressively” expanding its 4G LTE footprint throughout the region, adding 4G LTE coverage to about a thousand cell sites.
Verizon Wireless added that its network investment in New England amounts to more that $3.3 billion since the network’s inception in 2000.
In a statement, Christine Berberich, president of the company’s New England region, said: “Investing yet another quarter billion dollars into our New England network empowers more of our customers to use their connected devices and accessories in faster, more innovative ways. As New England’s wireless leader, we’ll continue to aggressively invest in network coverage, reliability, and technology, including LTE - the gold standard of 4G wireless technology.”
