Some companies close headquarters offices as they prepare for the big storm
BJ’s Wholesale Club opened its stores on time Friday, but the headquarters remained closed in Westborough.
The chain has activated its crisis management team made up of asset protection, logistics, safety, operations, and membership to be able to deal with any potential issues, according to BJ’s spokeswoman Kelly McFalls.
Dunkin’ Brands Inc. also kept its home office closed in Canton and the company is in contact with field teams and franchisees in preparation for the threat of the storm.
“We will be closely monitoring the situation,” said Michelle King, a Dunkin’ spokeswoman.
At Yankee Candle in South Deerfield and Whately, all first shift operations were scheduled to close at noon Friday, and the company is planning to resume operations at 6 p.m. Saturday, depending on actual storm impact.
