Logan International Airport experiencing some delays due to freezing rain

Logan International Airport was experiencing some delays due to freezing rain Monday morning, with United Airlines and JetBlue Airways flights in and out of Washington, D.C., behind by more than 45 minutes.

Crews were still out on the airfield, clearing off signs, plowing taxiways, and melting piles of snow, but the majority of scheduled flights were operating as airlines worked to get back to normal.

“I think we’re getting there,” said Richard Walsh, spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs Logan.

Amtrak had more trains running than it did on Sunday, including Acela Express, but service between New York and Boston was still reduced as workers removed snow and downed trees from the tracks.

The shuttle between New Haven, Conn., and Springfield was also limited, but the Downeaster between Brunswick, Maine, and Boston was on schedule.

Some bus lines, including Peter Pan, Greyhound, and BoltBus, were back on a regular schedule, while others, included Megabus, were still offering limited service.
