About the author
Kara Miller is an Assistant Professor of English, specializing in journalism, at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. She also serves as a guest panelist on WGBH-TV's “Beat the Press” and contributes to 89.7 FM WGBH (NPR). She has taught at Babson College and Tufts University, and her work has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, Boston Magazine, and The International Herald Tribune. From 2003 to 2010, she worked as a contributing columnist for The MetroWest Daily News covering politics, media, and pop culture. She received her Ph.D. from Tufts University, where she focused on how presidents communicate with the public during wartime.
