Much worse than a lawn sign
The words "Congressman Bill Hudak" just became a possibility. If you're down in the polls but within "striking distance" this is the little gift that you hope for. It's a strange twist for a candidate who was written off early after being dogged by charges of birtherism and, well, being a wingnut. Now, those charges pale in comparison to the real charges against John Tierney's wife.
Patrice Tierney "engaged in a conscious course of deliberate ignorance regarding the true nature of Eremian's income and Eremian's ownership of Sports Offshore,'' according to a criminal "information,'' which details the charges filed in court.
You can crow all you want about some kooky yard sign of the president in a turban or whatever but this is a bit more serious to the tune of, oh, seven million dollars. Hudak may be painted as a wing nut, perhaps rightfully, but he doesn't have any immediate ties to serious law breaking like this. Keep it mind that Tierney voted against the internet gambling ban while all of this was going on.
When you Google "Hudak", "birther" is one of the terms that comes up next to his name, which is bad but not as bad as "illegal gambling", "false tax returns", and "aiding and abetting".
Will Hudak win? Probably not but a ho-hum race that wasn't that interesting is now very interesting.
Tierney & Hudak are scheduled to debate on Fox 25 on Thursday night.
