300pierce.jpgPeople always ask me what I like to do for fun. Of course, I always say play basketball. For me, basketball is my number one hobby. I love everything about the game – from fun scrimmages with my buddies, to hours analyzing tape on how we can improve as a team. I am truly fortunate to say I love my job, and I can’t imagine it being any different.

That being said, of course I have plenty of other activities I enjoy. The main thing is staying active – I like to do things that are fun, outdoors, and keep my body active and healthy.

This past summer I took golf lessons and really got into the game, which will be my second sport (if things go well). I think I may be addicted; the problem is, it’s so hard to be consistent and I’m so competitive! I’m surrounded by golf though, so I just decided to get out there take lessons. So, to all my teammates who’ve been talkin a lot of smack, you better watch out, I’ll be comin for you.

When it’s time to chill and hang out with friends and family I grill and barbecue a lot. I just moved into a new house and spending time there with my family and friends is the best. My grill game is on point. I love to grill. The steak, the chicken, the vegetables - the typical grilling items. My daughter loves salmon too. I know it’s hard to believe, but she just loves it. No chicken fingers and noodles for her. She likes the good stuff, and we love it because it’s so good for her. I eat salmon all the time, so it’s not hard to figure where she gets it from.

I love to run, especially when I am in training mode. Whether it’s running on the beach in Los Angeles, chasing my daughter around, or getting outside in Boston. I also did the stairs a lot in Santa Monica when I was back home. It’s crazy how hard they are.

Bowling is another activity that I really enjoy. You may not break a sweat but it’s better than just sitting on the couch watching TV. In the summer, I would try to go a few times a week. It looks like we are going to move forward with my Truth Strikes Again benefit again this year at King’s. I’m excited about it. It’s always a great event and raises money for my Truth Foundation, which is 100% focused on fighting childhood obesity.

I could go on and on, but these activities are some of my favorites. What are your favorite activities? What do you do that’s fun and helps you stay active?

Tweet me @paulpierce34 or post to facebook.com/paulpierce your favorite activity – I want to see what you have been up to also!
