Roaming Romanian Finds Herself in Boston

BOSTON - August 21st, 2013 - Brighton Independent Film Company, Waverley Knobs Entertainment, is bringing an international flare to Boston through their independent film; Paperthin. While utilizing a complete cast and crew of local artists, Paperthin introduces the Character of Susana, a Romanian Immigrant, who has recently moved to Boston. Immersed in a foreign culture and surrounded by strangers, she finds solace in two places: her journal, and her roommate Adam. But when her journal goes missing, she suspects that Adam may have taken it, and soon Susana’s world begins to change, forcing herself to question who she can really trust. Written by Boston resident, Evin Charles Anderson, and directed by Salem resident, Trent England, this film hits home on our current issues of privacy and the potential of late 20-somethings as they struggle to find their place in Boston.

Starring Elsa McLaughlin and Evin Charles Anderson, Paperthin is is currently being filmed in Brighton (at CafeNation), Dorchester, and downtown Boston. It is slated to be released in October and is planned to be submitted to over 20+ local, national, and international film festivals.

Paperthin is based on the play "An Open Book" by former Boston Playwright, Meron Langsner (meronlangsner.com). It was performed in Brookline, MA as a play in early 2013 before being adapted by Evin Charles Anderson (evincharlesanderson.com), who also played the lead male.
