    My top 5:

    Halloween - the gold standard

Scream - self-centered and clever almost to a fault, but still a good flick

Psycho - nobody did it quite like Hitch...and that score!

A Nightmare On Elm Street - a revelation when it first came out and genuinely scary

Black Christmas - one of the first is still one of the best; extra points for being set in a sorority

    Bonus:

I Spit On Your Grave - a grindhouse classic and not for the squeamish; so beyond terrible, it's good.

April Fools' Day - good scares, funny and with an awesome twist at the end

ET -- not a slasher film, but seeing it at age four horrified me and I cannot look at the film anymore.

My god, how many times can boston.com post this?  You need a larger "filler" rotation.  It's clearly too small if I see this get posted every other week.
