Re: What are your favorite gangster movies?

I took the time to go through the slideshow of "Gangster Flicks" and much to my dismay, not one mention of any Edward G. Robinson movies.

Really??That's kind of like having a list of the 25 greatest Rock and Roll bands of all time and not including the Beatles on it.Of course, that's just my opinon.

Here's just a few of his many gangster movies:

    Brother Orchid

    Bullets or ballots

    Little Ceaser

Key Largo (Considered by many to be one of the greatest movies of all time)

I hope it was just an oversight not to include any of Eddie G.

    1) The Sopranos. OK, it's a TV series, not a movie, but you could make one heck of a movie out of it.

    2) Godfather I and II.

    3) Goodfellas.

Bronx Tale - (I have a connection to this movie as it takes place in the neighborhood I grew up in). Nothing left to say accept it was a strange, but wonderful way to grow up.

I've always liked Bronx Tale. State Of Grace was pretty darn good too, as was The Public Enemy.

    1. The Godfather
    2. The Godfather Part II
    3. Goodfellas
    4. Reservoir Dogs

    5. The Departed

The first Godfather film is unbeatable for its acting and authentic mobster feel, as well as the settings. Goodfellas is a classic, with Joe Pesci and De Niro at their very best. Reservoir dogs has unrivaled brutality and a great cast of characters, and the departed is just a great, fast paced film.

I would put 'Ronin' high on that list, but I'm not sure it's a mobster film - more assassin / action based.
