Great choice as usual, carnie. We seem to share a lot of favorite performers. Looks like no one else is too excited about Muddy, as I am the first to add to your thread. Muddy is one of the key transitional figures moving from blues to rock. Obviously the Rolling Stones were heavily influenced by him. He also influenced early rockers, especially Bo Diddley.

    Posted by devildavid
Not to mention that he was the guy who brought Chuck down to Chess Records. Maybe I shouldn't used his christian neme in the headline LOL. Muddy was perhaps the greatest influence ever on Rock 'n Roll. One thing I'll say about you is you have excellent taste in music. I don't know anyone else but me that loves Muddy, Hank and Fats.

    Posted by devildavid
Trouble No More on Live From The Fillmore East might be the all time greatest cover of a blues song ever. Now please excuse me while I go listen to Brian Setzer play some rockabilly.
