    Computer songs and flirtations

"All the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put  (Yoga's computer...) Humpty, together again."

Okay, just sneaking in another comment re: the ongoing computer replacement saga.  I have narrowed down my choices (looking good), and am getting closer to a decision.   I learn quickly and have firm resolve re: price, although my price range has shifted quite a few dollars since I started looking, only last week.

    Help inspire me, please:

List songs about computers, electronics -- anything, everything.

Funny, but last week I mentioned Neil Young's album "Trans" which is Young's ode to the musical digital era, made in the early 1980's, an album that went down as a historic misfire.  "Transformer Man" , anyone?  =)

Great call.  That is one of the best tracks ever about technology and war.

    'Rejoice, glory is ours

Our young men have not died in vain

    Their graves need no flowers

The tapes have recorded their names'

Great choices.   1981 is a year before the Neil Young album fiasco.   It's amazing how insightful these offbeat musicians were back then, years ahead of the mainstream.

BTW, if I disappear, it is b/c of my computer.   No aliens have invaded my home.  =)

With the TLC I have to give my computer, I only listened to one song (so far), "White and Nerdy" --  that was perfect.  THANKS.   Why haven't I ever heard that song?!?    Weird Al is spot on.   I'll go back to the others, after my computer takes a break.   (I'm serious)

It's especially funny b/c a nerdy white guy began talking to me when I was checking out a laptop this week.   The conversation turned into a competition (of sorts) as to which one of us is more minimalist regarding our computer requirements.  I couldn't believe I could keep up with a nerd in a computer conversation, but there it was:  I'm a little nerdy myself.   =)

    @Beach Spider,

Since my computer is on life support, I don't think it can handle flirtatious computer graphics right now.    Laughing

I would have put my money on "OK Computer" for you, gerbs, but since you didn't prove to be so predictable, consider it done now.  =)     The album is holding up well, along with the other songs mentioned in this thread.

Glad you liked the Weird Al song.I think "All about the pentiums" is better than "White and Nerdy".Just an opinion though.

And speaking of opinions, the "Black Sabbath" song "Computer God" isn't really a very  good song.Ozzy isn't the singer in it,so it's difficult for me to think of the group as Black Sabbath. If your computer has trouble with videos, don't watch/listen to it,you won't be missing much.

Here's a song about the new electronic age, also the very first video shown on MTV,The Buggles -"Video killed the radio star"

For an album title, most definitely.  For a song on the album, Paranoid Android should fit the bill quite nicely.
