"A Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives.  For some reason, this one is the epitome of the culture of commercialization that has take traditional Christmas songs like "Silent Night" off the air and replaced them with "muzak to shop to."

I'm not religious.  I'm not even a "believer."  But, if you're going to celebrate Christmas, celebrate Christmas, not just Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and any Beach Boys Christmas song.  Horrible!

I could live well without ever hearing 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' or 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' ever again.

Also +1 on 'Holly Jolly Christmas'.

I hate any traditional Christmas songs. Even the instrumentals. If it isn't a wacky Christmas song then I don't want to hear it.

Some thoughts on the list, however:

Sick of hearing grandpa sing about grandma getting run over? Try the sequal where the grandson explains what really happened.

If you can't stand the Elvis version, I recommend Seemore Swine and the Squeeler's version. And please, don't attempt to eat or drink anything during the song.

    Which holiday?

I like 4th of July songs, and Columbus Day songs.

Christmas songs, I despise them all. Like the holiday they represent. Christmas songs are not played because people like them or want them, they are played in stores to get people into a buying mood. If it was good music. you would play it all year.

People are mostly afraid they will go to hell if they break fron the "normal" Christmas traditions. This is why Xmas songs form the 30s and 40s are played in December, and other music from this era has dropped off the playlists of everything from grocery store to radio stations and Shopping Malls.

Sorry ,for the rant, but "Holiday" music usually refers to Christmas. how many New Year's songs are there?

The Drummer Boy by the Harry Simeone Chorale.  No surer way to get me to turn off a radio that that droning claptrap of a song.

THat little bah stid on the radio singing "1-800 Kars for Kids"

If I ever meet that kid, or see the CEO of that company (which encourages poor spelling, by the way), there is going to be some ugly stuff that happens

Really don't like 'Little Drummer Boy', it's just a silly and tedious song.  I also agree with the previous posters who mention '"Jolly Holly Christmas' and 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'.   Ugh.

Ever notice how many Xmas songs don't mention Xmas?

Jingle Bells....I never here this song after Xmas, but it is about riding through the snow. Where I live we seldom see much snow before January. They only play this song at Xmas.....I guess I should be grateful, I probably would go insane if it was played until March, especially the Frank Sinitra version. Somehow, I feel this song was never meant to have the full casino lounge crooner effect. I can picture Frank with a glass of whiskey or vodka in one hand and a cigarette in the other really swinging to this as if he's just too cool for school.

And another thing, these 90s and 2000s female Pop singers doing Xmas songs really gets me thinking. These girls put the "HO" in Xmas, not the ho, ho, ho....if you know what I mean.

What's worse than a boy band song?....a boy band Xmas song.
