TT, thank you so much!  I'll bring you a cup of coffee to go with those cupcakes - my special trick of adding a drop of vanilla will enhance the taste....got cards from DH and my only remaining aunt - the baby of her family, she was still a kid when I was born so I'm glad she is still around...

Stay safe all, get your errands done before the snow!

    Re: December 2013

Icer, is it going to be our old Phyllis?  My neighbor swears she read that the actress who plays Phyllis wanted to take more time off to be with family - won't seem the same if they have someone else in her spot.

I was supposed to go out fairly early this morning, but already let the person know last night that I wouldn't be going.  I blew around enough yesterday and froze, so today is going to be hunker down, stay warm day, getting ready for GD's visit tomorrow to make the paper bowl.

Nice to get up this morning, walk by the ROK and see the tree, all sparkly there.

What wasn't so nice was an email waiting from C.L.  Said she woke up around 6:30, looked out the window and saw an animal lying under the feeder at the back of her yard.  She sent  her husband out, afraid it was an animal that had frozen, and it got up and ran off - it was a coyote, either sleeping there or lying in wait for the deer that come through each morning.  Of course, she is worried about Harry and Fluff also.

Princess, thanks for passing on good wishes to Peter from Pingo and me.  How are you yourself feeling?  All your Christmas shopping done? I still have T.J.'s, B&N, and the packie to hit - first warm day.

Oops, forgot Novem - congratulations - my DIL just got a promotion too, which will mean less of a daily commute, plus a raise.

And, Icer, how did things go at the board meeting last night?  Oh, our posts are just missing each others - see the meeting is scheduled for January 13th.

    Good morning

slow improvement but mornings are particularly difficult after a night of pressure building up in my ear from lying down even though the pillow has me propped up like the doctor said to do

still barely able to focus to read and it makes me nauseous however I know you are asking about me and still patiently wishing me well I hope all is well with you guys too

I wish the speak program added punctuation but alas

The doctor said the fluid is way way back in my inner ear and therefore must work it's way out with the drying medicine and heat and hydration all of which I am doing

can't proofread so hopefully all this makes sense

I miss you all and being able to chat normally or do anything normally i'll never take single vision for granted again

Kar, can you try sleeping actually sitting up on a couch?  That is what I do when I am sick - well actually, I can now do it watching TV at night - and it helps a lot when I can't breathe....I put my bathrobe on backwards and sit up against the couch corner.

Actually, Winter, I'm dragging this morning.  I keep telling myself that if I push a little harder and go out as I usually do, it will reinvigorate me, but i was awake most of the night after 1:00 a.m. and look a bit like death warmed over - of course, a little makeup would help that too!  lol  And, there's no guarantee that if I stay in I'll get anything done.  Do have some more pages I want to fold for that bowl, and then tape them together, and can you believe I still have the supplies for the boys' cards on the table ?  Did over the poem to each a bit yesterday, you know how it is, you read it the next day and think, that doesn't flow right.  I keep peeking out checking the driveway next to the car, and I think even tho ice melt was put down yesterday, there still is a patch right next to where I'd get in the door.  Guess I'd better do as I always tell everyone else, "listen to your gut" - and stay in.

    Re: December 2013

Of course, you're right, Hats.  I've accomplished a lot of little things already this morning and sitting here look across the street to a completely crusted iced slope.  I am so afraid of falling.  We were laughing yesterday over to the Marketplace, it was sooo cold, especially in the shade and partner kept saying to G.T. and me, to hurry up, walk faster - G.T. said, "We're going as fast as we can - I'm not alone you know, have someone hanging onto my arm!"  then trying to get into their van was another whole issue!  OMG, my legs just aren't long enough to climb up into those!

Anyway, I did take 6 more cupcakes from the freezer and will whip up a batch of frosting and sliver some more pistachios for the tops.  If you'd like a salad with tuna chunks, you're welcome to come to lunch first.  I can hold off until about 1:00, but by then I'll have to eat without you.

Got my mail at 6:30 last night.  Regular mailman evidently was smart enough to take the day off, and the poor sub delivered even magazines.  I thought all they had to deliver was the first class mail when they were covering.  Maybe he wanted the overtime pay.

    Re: December 2013

    Good morning,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Hats - and many more to come. Stay healthy and keep "entertaining" your Chatter pals.

Congratulations, November, on your promotion. Coming unexpected, it is so much more valuable. And I am not talking money here. Kudos to you.

Icer, your hearing set to Jan. 13, must mean, they voted on and selected you. Congrats to you too. Now, you just have to go through the procedure. I think the only one, who will be against you, will be the previous Health Inspector. I know, you will be awesome.

Kar, oh Kar, so sorry, you are still so sick. Add me to the crowd, that suggest, you see a specialist. I am not convinced, that the nasal spray you are using, will dry out your very inner ear. I don't want to scare you, but unless treated ASAP, it could turn into something chronic. Please don't let that happen. We do appreciate your posts - punctuations or none, spelling mistakes and all. Don't worry about them. Worry about YOU getting better. That's what important for you right now. And thanks for letting us know, how you are doing. Hugs!

Now, if you bothered to get through this long post, can anyone tell me, how to keep my beautiful Cyclamen, while we are gone? It is one of the ones I used for the shower. It is still so beautiful, but do need a lot of water. I deep water it once a week, and it still looks like it has a lot of life left. Hasn't changed since I bought it.

As soon as I get off this computer, I am going to run up to Costco. Got a curtsy call yesterday from the Pharmacy about some meds waiting for me. The last order I called in, I already picked up. Tried to get them on the phone, but that was futile. After that I need to go to TJ's.  That is about all my venturing out for today.

    Have a good day everyone.

Oh, Pingo, while you are at T.J.'s would you mind scouting around for some bulky fillers for the baskets?  Maybe pkgs of cookies, some gnocci, crackers, dorito type things for dips, barbecue sauce - I'll leave it up to your good judgement.  And, of course, I'll extend an invitation to come for lunch with Hats and me, followed by  "happy birthday"  singing fest over pistachio cupcakes and vanilla ice cream.  Thanks.

Pingo, could you water your plant heavy like you always do, then use a water ball that you stick in the plant and it waters as needed....you fill the ball with water, sorry I can't remember what they are called.  Don't kknow if it would work, but just a thought.

Happy Birthday Hats, Hope you have/had a terrific day.   I'm starting to count backwards now...Take care and Keep Smiling, ss

SS, why didn't I think of that? Waterball (or whatever they are called) should last for a few days more at least. DS gave me his, when he moved to UK. Now just have to find them. Thanks!

ETA. They are called Water Globes. LOL

    Re: December 2013

Just came back. The visibility is low, but the roads are fine - in case anyone needs to go out.

Didn't get your gnocchi, tt. But I picked up a couple of bags of Lemon Pepper Pasta, a couple of bags of Peppermint Pretzels, a jar of Red Pepper Spread and a box of Croissant Toast to go with it, plus a couple of boxes of Green Candy Cane Tea (decaf). Also one box of Dark Chocolate Coated Coffee Beans and a box of Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds. Now, where do you want me to drop it all off? I could come and share Hats' birthday party with you - unless it is all over. The roads are not bad.

For myself, I got a couple of frozen pizzas. And a couple of other frozen dishes. I usually don't buy them, but I am planning for our departure and return. I have dinner for tonight, but I don't want to cook for the next two days and have leftovers. I also want to have something in the house, that will be easy to prepare, when we get back.

Hats, while at TJ's I saw your Christmas Rose. I had such a hard time, not to pick up one. Fortunately, TJ's just opened a store in San Antonio. I will buy one there and enjoy it while we visit. Hopefully they carry them.

tt, I laughed at your story about you and GT and partner visiting Market Street. That could easily have been me. DS has a SUV too, and for me to get in and out of that car is tricky, say the least. Only thing, I am not enjoying visiting them.

    Re: December 2013

Spectacular, Pingo.  I couldn't have done better.  Only other thing I can think of is a tin of hot chocolate for each basket.  I've moved the unfinished, but covered over, baskets to the chest inside the ROK door, so as not to tempt GD to peek.  Have dusted off everything where she might want to decorate, folded the last of the pages and started taping 3 at a time together end to end.  STILL haven't done those cards, but I see I'm out of the larger side cardstock, so will have enough embellishments to do up a joint card, as well, to GD and her bro on the smaller cardstock.  Definitely will get those cards that are turning out to be so pesty, in the mail Thursday when I go out.

Sorry you missed the party, Hats did too.  Just as well, I ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee. along with a big dill pickle sliced.  Took out a container of eggplant parm to heat up for my supper, but you're always welcome for tea, I'm about ready to put the kettle on now for the Irish Breakfast blend.

Quiet in my backyard today, but C.L. has seen the coyote again mid morning, and after that a young buck.  I said to go out and clap pan covers together, but she was afraid that would startle the deer into running into the street.  So, do what you think is best - I have no other suggestions, only what I would do.

Grey and dreary, but not a lot of snow coming down.  Showed pics of Newton on the noon news and they were getting a lot more than we've seen here.

Still have those fresh cupcakes I frosted today that we could have with our tea, so will wait for your knock at the door.

    Re: December 2013

The Flonase nasal spray is reducing the inflammation in my inner ear allowing easier drainage out the back of my ear, and benedryl is drying it out.  The fluid is behind the drum in the Eustachian tube.

winter, thanks for the punctuation tip. Works great!  I thought it would write out the words period or exclamation point. LOL

playing a return trip to the doctor by ear, no pun intended. :-)
