You're right - they actually look like bridal gowns and not like a big version of the kids Halloween costumes of the characters!

I think this one is my favorite, one of the Cinderella ones. The sad thing is that they only make them up to a 14 :(

I know! Isn't that ridiculous? And if it's a bridal 14, these dresses are only fitting up to like real size 10 women.

There's one I actually like - I wonder what the pricing is like.

    http://www.disneybridal.com/collections/cn/bridal/cn6.html

And therei's one that is so ill-suited and ill-fitted to the model that it appears t be hanging off her bony chest. But it's an Ariel design so maybe it looks better "under the sea".

I agree with you on the Ariel dress - I don't know what's holding that up on the model - it's not her body.

Not what I expected either. They're not as princess-y as I assumed, but they don't look that great anyway... Maybe that's because they're all hanging off of the models!

Ooooh...I like them - well not all but some. One in particular -

Snow White has a really nice elegant looking dress too and they all dont look like they would only be appropriate for a 22 year old bride.

they're nicer than i thought, although i don't like the limited size range and the fact that many of them would look good only on either a tiny or very young woman... (not many people get married in their early 20's anymore)

somebody get that poor girl a cheeseburger!

I'm bummed too that they're pretty instead of silly. I was hoping for one with a train that had the bluebirds already attached! (and maybe motorized so they could fly!!!)

I am bummed that the Ariel line does have more pronounced trumpet or mermaid style to it. It seems only fitting.

My BF often says get that girl a cheeseburger but occasionally he mixes it up and say get that girl an ice cream sundae.

LOL - The bluebird comment was hilarious...

Maybe for Ariel line they could have green and blue sequined scales covering the bottom half - hey no need for a top half at all just a few well placed hair extensions. Cut the price in half too maybe.

RE skinny model comment from ALF - yep you're right just went back and checked she's not flat chested - too quick of an assumption made when it appeared she couldn't fill out the "bandeau-ish" top (don't know the clinical term for that top)...Definitely not her fault. though someone must think that's how the dress is supposed to fit or else why include it in the collection photos like that!

cbs4boston.com has an article on the Disney Dresses..they run from $1,100. to $3,400. (still think the models need some serious food, and is disappointed in the small size range of the dresses)

I was really surprised at how nice they were. If I hadn't already bought mine, I would want to try on the second one in the "Sleeping Beauty" line. I thought they would all be poofy monstrosities, but they're really not!

I don't think they look horribly skinny compared to some of the sickly looking models out there. However, I do think the dresses look too big. I noticed this on a website for bridesmaid dresses the other day as well. They must pay a lot for a photo shoot - can't they make sure the dresses look good on the models?!
Do you really think the models are that skinny? They look normal to me. I have seen some freakishly thin ones, never mind the weird poses, in magazines, but these ones look healthy to me. It is weird that the dresses only go up to the size they do. Maybe they are "store sizing" and not bridal sizing?
I thought it was just me...ALF, I have to agree that they look healthy and well adjusted. :)
These dresses are very unique and beautiful I heard they were touring to promote them in the botiques of several different hotels such as The Disney World Hotels, The Atlantic City Casino Hotels, and even The Discount Atlantic City Hotels. I think they will do very well. Who wouldn't want to feel like a princess?!!
mleighton/fjdrama, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but it's kind of obvious that you're the same poster.

From what I remember, the original dresses that came out in 2007 had really skinny models (to the point where the dresses were not flattering looking) - not the same as what it on now.
Man, how did this thread pop up again?!

Not for my wedding, though. Just, like, for clubbing. :)

However, it did sort of work because I did have to look them up out of curiosity even if there is no chance of me ever purchasing one.

Seems to me that mleighton/fjdrama is an SEO person for Disney Hotels and they are doing some linkbuilding -- grimy practice and will usually result in punishment by the search engines eventually.

I thought they'd look more like the wedding gowns the characters wore. Ariel's dress at the end of the movie was totally 80's, big puff sleeves that were full-length with the finger loop on the end and a very full skirt.
The Cinderella dress does look a little like the wedding gown she wore at the end of the movie, and Snow White dress has the puff sleeves and bodice that remind me of her dress in the movie.
I'm suprised how low the prices are. I wonder what the quality is like.
