Blood Sweat and Tears - Sometimes In Winter
(Steve Katz)
Sometimes in Winter
I gaze into the streets
and walk through snow and city sleet
behind your room
Sometimes in Winter
forgotten memories
remember you behind the trees
with leaves that cried
By the window once I waited for you
laughing slightly you would run
trees alone would shield us in the meadow
makin' love in the evening sun
Now you're gone girl
and the lamp posts call your name
I can hear, them
in the spring of frozen rain
now you're gone girl
and the time's slowed down till dawn
It's a cold room and the walls ask
where you've gone
Sometimes In Winter
I love you when the good times
seem like mem'ries in the spring
that never came
Sometimes In Winter
I wish the empty streets
Would fill with laughter from the tears
that ease my pain -

Thought he was already married. Hmmm. Guess I'll have to buy him a wedding gift now
Any suggestions, Robin?
PS Dont like it that the wedding took place just prior to our event. If I didnt know any better, I'd swear he was trying to upstage Freak Fest
As if, Len!

Wedding gift? That's a tough one, I can't think of a single thing Len needs...

Song title: The Land of Danderoo
Song parodied: Yellow Submarine
Original artist: The Beatles
youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM5NIi8m_kQ
Special note: I am dedicating this first FF Song of the Year nominee to ambergirl, a longtime Biv event habitue, who for personal reasons will be unable to attend Freak Fest this year. We will miss her of course, but in the entertainment world, the show must go on. She knows that. Freak Fest waits for no one, not even me (Well, maybe for me)...On behalf of Biv fanatics across the nation and around the world, I want to wish ambergirl a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Biv Year as well as a happy, joyful Freak Fest II (albeit in absentsia)
Okay, everybody, let's sing!
In the town where I was born
Lived a man named RoyG B
And he told me of a place
Filled with love and harmony
So I roamed all through the dell
Til I found this xanadu
At a swale beneath the stars
In the land of danderoo
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo
And Roy's fans were all about
So I joined with them, just hangin' out
And we played some freaky songs...
[fanfare]
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo
And we live a life that's free
Everyone of us and RoyG B
His eyes are brown, his nose is too
In the land of danderoo
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo
We all live in the land of danderoo
Land of danderoo, land of danderoo -

Did you see the pics of him as a young man?
In the black and white photo, he kinda looks like Mark Ballas, no? I dont want to start trouble, but to stop any rumors from spreading, I may have to order up a paternity test
Len is better looking now IMO than he was as a young man -

Here are Len & Cherry again, looks like some sort of competition. Couldnt tell you what dance theyre doing jive, maybe? Hard to tell, since the look of a lot of the Latin dances
has changed so much from back in the day. Watch that leg, Cherry! You might hit Len in that old sausage he's always yammering on about. -

Song parodied: Mrs Robinson
Original artist: Simon & Garfunkle

Special note: The youtube link above is to the great cover version of "Mrs Robinson" performed by the Lemonheads. Superior to the original IMO. If you are unfamiliar with it, or if you havent heard it in a while, I urge you to give it a listen. #DandoLurvesDandy
And here's to you, Mr DandyBear
Wildo loves you more than you will know
Wo wo wo
God bless you please, Mr DandyBear
Wildo throws a Fest for twerps like you
Woo woo woo woo woo woo
Stick it in a nether place where no one else dares go
Plant it really deep between them buttcheeks
It's a dirty secret just Roy Dandy's rude affair
Most of all he tries to hide it from the mods
Smooch smoochie p oo, Mr DandyBear
Wildo loves you more than you will know
Wo wo wo
God bless you please, Mr DandyBear

Good song!
Regarding Anne Bancroft: Her best-known role during this period was as Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate (1967), for which she received a third Academy Award nomination. In the film, she played an unhappily married woman who seduces a family friend, the much-younger recent college graduate played by Dustin Hoffman. In the movie, Hoffman's character later dates and falls in love with her daughter. Bancroft was ambivalent about her appearance in The Graduate; she stated in several interviews that the role overshadowed all of her other work. Despite her character becoming an archetype of the "older woman" role, Bancroft was only six years older than Dustin Hoffman.

Because I didnt slurp it good
When I was just a boy
I went and took some lessons
From Professor DandyRoy
He showed me how to do it right
He made me A-okay
Now everytime I slurp it, baby
This is what I say (hey)

Thanks Ache, very nice.
If any Biv Fanatics are interested, Dan Rea WBZ talk radio will have Ken Barlow on this evening as the second guest (9p or 10p)
Former WBZ Meteorologist Ken Barlow made headlines when he stepped forward to talk about struggling with bipolar disorder.
Might be interesting... -

Thank you, Robin. That is good information
There are a lot of bipolars in the Biv Fanatic community. Hopefully a few of them will tune in and learn something from Mr Barlow tonight
Btw, happy anniversary. It was exactly one year ago today that we celebrated the first RoyGBiv Winter Freak Festival... -

Happy anniversary to you too, Ache.
I tried to listen to Mr Barlow, but honestly, I don't understand this new trend to tell everything about oneself, shouldn't some things stay private? I guess he's writing a book now.
I get what he's trying to do, increase awareness etc, but there will always be a stigma attached to mental illness.
I'm watching Parenthood tonight, a good show, excellent acting, sometimes I even cry, maybe it's a chick flick kind of thing :)

Song parodied: Fly Me to the Moon
Original artist: Francis Albert Sinatra
yotube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCW9Hey6IVY
Special note: This is the first ever Sinatra tune to receive the FBS treatment. Wont be the last though. Not if I have anything to say about it. (And, of course, I do) #FrankieGoesToFreakFest
Fly me to the Fest
Let me play among the twerps
And let me see what Biv is like
His smooches and his slurps
In other words...kiss my butt
In other words...Dandy, smooch me
Thrill my rump with swabs
Let Roy linger 'round my groove
He'll know how to work it
He's amazing. I approve
In other words...boy, oh, boy!
In other words...I love Roy!

I'm with you, Robin. Some things need to stay outside the public realm
Maybe Mr Barlow is hoping to land a reality series out of this one day. The Moody Meterorologist. On the Weather Channel or NatGeo
Good luck to him. I kind of remember his name. Was he ever on 'BZ tv or just radio? -

Do you suppose the weather affects his mood? If so, funny occupation for him to be in IMO
Seems to be in good spirits in that picture though. He must have taken his happy pill that day
PS Not sure if you noticed, but AM/PM is back on the time stamp

Song title: We Tried to Make Roy Go to Freak Fest
Song parodied: Rehab
Original artist: Amy Winehouse
youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDGKYD43zc0
Special note: For those of you who dont know, Roy's signature putdown was the word "dumb*ss". He used it constantly when he was here, often as the sole word of entire messages that usually were directed at one poster in particular (young Farty McCrabliss) who was the object of most of Roy's bombast and ridicule. The word appears frequently in FBS (including this one) as an homage to Roy's usage and as a statement of sorts about who IMO the real dumb*ss was around here back then. #NoOffenseDandy
We tried to make him go to Freak Fest
But Roy said, "No no no!"
Yes, I do swear, we'll pay his bus fare
But, "No no no!"
Roy dont buy the hype
I guess ol' dandy aint the type
We tried to make him go to Freak Fest
But Roy wont go go go...
He'd rather freak at home that day
But he cant hide them filthy ways
But there's something, there's something that we could teach him
That he can learn from Mr AcheyNay...
Dandy ne'er too bright in class
And you know he'll always be a dumb*ss
We tried to make him go to Freak Fest
But Roy said, "No no no!"
Yes, I do swear, we'll pay his bus fare
But, "No no no!"
Roy dont buy the hype
I guess ol' dandy aint the type
We tried to make him go to Freak Fest
But Roy wont go go go...
The fan asks why aint dandy here
I say, "I got no idea
I'm gonna, I'm gonna miss Roy dandy
Aint no one else who's gonna kiss my rear"
Fan says you just look depressed
Poor me! No RoyG! At the Freak-y Fest:(
We tried to make him go to Freak Fest
But Roy said, "No no no!"
Yes, I do swear, we'll pay his bus fare
But, "No no no!"

Hello, everyone. Wildo here
Happy Freak Fest to all of you
Glad you could make it today. You are looking at pictures taken moments ago at the jam-packed auditorium where the event itself is taking place. What a scene!
I must say it is a thrill to be standing this afternoon among all the great Biv Fanatics from across the nation and around the world, many of whom traveled thousands of miles just to get here
Here are a few photos of some of them who camped out overnight just outside the venue to ensure themselves a good spot for today's party:
Okay, well, that's it for now
Back later with more
Happy FF! Peace & Love
