    That's ok.

Most Americans have a cartoonish view of congressional republicans, too.

I absolutely agree that looking back over the events; there was likely little or no chance of getting any military response to the location in time to stop the terrorist.

What I do not understand is, how did the state dept or any one else know how long this event would last?

It could have turned in to a hostage situation that lasted days or weeks!?

Why would we not send in a unit to perhaps nothing more than secure a crime scene to perserve evidence and help catch those responsible??

That is what I want to know.

Dempsey and other top Pentagon officials have previously testified that they could not get commandos or fighter planes into Benghazi in time to save the lives of Amb. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. There was an unarmed surveillance drone over Benghazi, but Air Force fighters in Italy’s Aviano air base lacked refueling tankers to allow them to get to the scene. Special-operations teams in the U.S. and Croatia were initially told to prepare for Benghazi, for a possible hostage-rescue mission, but they ultimately didn’t get closer than a staging base in Europe before the attacks ended.

Ok, lets all that is completely accurate. I think sending in forces to secure the "crime scene" would have been the prudent thing to do. It took almost a week to secure the site and it was completely ransacked by that time.

    Doesnt add up.

Funny thing. He didn't mention that it was a planned attack by Ansar al-Sharia either.

Didn't have to.  The CIA already did. That is, before Bama and Hillary removed them.

Couldn't get there in time? How do they know that? Dd the terrorists call and say they were stopping the attack, so don't bother coming?

i don't know why the left clings bitterly to this most meaningless of talking points.

Sorry Tvoter but I wouldn't be a hurry to enter that site either ..... I imagine that intel satellites had to check the area for anti aircraft weapons before the military thought it was safe for fighters and drones .... once they are confident that the area is pretty safe ground troops with robots would come in to further check out the area for IEDs  or enemy combatants before the FBI could enter to check for evidence . The crime scene isn't going anywhere .

I guess you'll beleive anything that leaves the lips of the Obama apologists.

There were troops in Tripoli.  That's 400 miles away. That's a couple of hours, door to door.

They were told to stand down.  Who gave that order?

I guess you're too dumb to accept reality.

Nothing is too conspiratorial for the weak minded.

Bet you said that before the IRS ADMITTED to targeting Obammy's political enemies, huh?  Or before Obama's Justice Dept. started tapping journalist phone lines  (talking about biting hand that feeds!)

It is ironic, the same 60's burn-outs that railed against the power of the evil gov't are now the useful idiots Obama's evil gov't depends on.

Don't forget the dubya's IRS going after the NAACP and a church that was backing Kerry during the fall of 2004

Bush did it.  Wow.  Why am I not surprised to see you go there.  So, does this mean it is ok for Obama to do it as well?

besides, the Bush investigations were  actual alleged violations, not simply based on liberal dog whistle code words, like "TEA party".

The left has certainly begun their slide into tyranny as their ideas fail.

skeeter let the investigations begins ..... Left and Right leaning poltical groups should get the same treatment by the IRS or it isn't fair ..... and we both know that both parties want to be known as being the party of fairness .

btw skeeter is the IRS guilty of a crime concerning of lets say using it office for a political vendetta or was it guilty of profiling  a certain group of people ?
