Then let's propose a tax to be levied on gun buyers, gun stores and gun makers, to fully finance the employment of professional guards in each of the 100,000+ public schools.  Sounds fair right?

Putting armed guards is WAY more logical for prevention than banning gun or clip!!

moron...that armed guard will be among the deceased.  Probably the first one shot in a surprise attack.

Ft Hood army base experienced a massacre where one guy shot over 40 trained soldiers, killing 13. What's a rent-a-cop going to do in the face of a Newtown style attack?

The army base casualties were by a member of the army and he went into an area he knew there were no guns allowed!!

An armed trained guard would not be standing out front waiting to be shot!

    You are a real moron!!

So where would he be standing?

Schools have numerous doors and windows. How many guards would you need to cover them all? The point of having an armed guard is to deny entry so they have to be outside, at every entry point, including windows.

Our school keeps every door locked from the outside (with push handles to go out).

A fairly wide perimeter around the school and you can only enter through the front!

its not that hard to defend with a little training!

    1. First target.

    2. Sweet. Let's completely militarize our country out of a need for safety. Just like Homeland Security and TSA, the founders would love that idea.

    There you go again.

btw: if the coward knew he would face armed opposition he probably would have choose that target.

And don't forget the coverage needed for the sports teams when they travel, or the field trips.  And you better have a plan when any of these guards are out sick.

You hired off duty cops or most local PD's will likely provide security since they are charged with protecting the community and the school is part of the commuinity!

    The POINT IS:

If these cowards who go after the weak and unarmed (school, cafeteria on an army base where guns are not allowed) they will most likely not go to a school if, they kjknow there is armed opposition!

We protect our money, businesses, car in parking lots with armed guards but, we get push back for using them to protect out kids??

That just shows that some people are more concerns with politics and gun laws than the safety of kids or others!!

Also, Columbine had an armed guard.

     His name was Neil Gardner

    [/QUOTE]

True and he likely reduced the death toll by engaging the shooters, much like the argument that assault weapons ban would reduce the death toll!
