Speaking of ignorance, here is a profoundly ignorant statement:

The entire wingnut argument on ACA and health insurance in general is based on their collective ignorance of how the insurance market is designed to work.

They gleefully spout such ignorance with echo chamber taglines like "Keep your gubmit hands off my Medicare" or "The system ain't broke".

So you're saying that wingnuts do believe the system is broke

To the extent that any of them has ever said anything, it is that the system is broken because government shut up.

If we just stop regulating health insurance entirely, health insurance companies will sell us the cheapest bestest most comprehensive plans ever, out of the glowing golden goodness of their hearts because free market shut up.

You know....like how drugs were safe and effective, sausage didn't contain finger bones, and there were absolutely no abusive labor practices before any of THOSE things were regulated.

Sure, press them and they'll say they "aren't laissez-faire"...but that doesn't really square with saying "Obamacare sucks, just leave it to the free market".

Maybe the problem is that laissez-faire is unAmerican frog speak, so they don't know it erally just refers to "pure free market".

im think obama should set up a system that drastically increases health insurance costs for employers, take away insurance that people already have and then put in a more expensive system that nobody can use AND make that unworkable government health insurance mandatory and fine people heavily for not using it.....now THAT's a plan I can back!!!!

Leftnutz obviously do not know or cannot admit what a collosal failure this shady, partisan dimwitted bill that became law along party lines is.

Looking back on the failure statements and things like:

“I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies.”

"We must pass it before we can know whats in it"

"If, you like you current insurance plan you can keep it, PERIOD"

"If, you like your current doctor you can keep him/her, PERIOD"

"Everyones insurance costs will go down by 2,500.00"

    "The cornhusker kickback"

    "The Louisiana Purchase"

"This is to make insurance more affordable"

"The millions of cronies who got waivers"

The list of lies and deceit is almost endless

In the years since the Massachusetts health care law went into effect nothing has changed my view that a plan crafted to fit the unique circumstances of a single state should not be grafted onto the entire country. Beyond that, had President Obama actually learned the lessons of Massachusetts health care, millions of Americans would not lose the insurance they were promised they could keep, millions more would not see their premiums skyrocket, and the installation of the program would not have been a frustrating embarrassment. Health reform is best crafted by states with bipartisan support and input from its employers, as we did, without raising taxes, and by carefully phasing it in to avoid the type of disruptions we are seeing nationally.

    Alternative????

This is f-in LAW right now! We have to repeal this crap while millions suffer through loss of coverage, higher costs and a huge drain our economy!

The time for alternative ideas and debate was when the dems were making backroom deals and shutting everyone out!!

Is your cognitive dissonance overwhelming you right now?

I was talking about the ACA, the implementation is the least of their problems.

    1. The ACA just started to kick in so you simply cannot say it doesn't work. Well you can say it in the literal sense, but saying it means nothing other than "hi, look at me, I'm biased"

    2. Neither you nor any conservative here has ever offered an alternative except "free market shut up". For that, see my earlier post on the stupidity of simple blind references to "free market."

    3. Romneycare which IS the ACA which IS the heritage plan, worked. Take a bow!

Of course he can, and the roll-out and website have gone about as bad as they could have.  Obama and the admin deserve the lumps they're getting in this regard.  They should be embarrassed.

But again, that has nothing to do with efficacy of the law itself, which is going to work, if a little kludgy in its first year or so.

ANY reform of this scope and scale would have bugs this early.

However, while Obama deserves responsibility, so do congressional gopers who have tried to derail the law from day one and their refusal take ownership of elements of the law which were their ideas (not to mention parts of the law they like...and secretly support but are afraid to say it for angering the tee partee.

I like the subtle throw back on the republicans, just in case it blows up all together. I'm sure the the WH has a list already to go on how they can throw this back at the rep's.

It's not subtle.  It's been there all along.

This whole time, it's been incumbent upon republicans to say what they like and what they don't and to make constructive arguments on how to fix them.  Blithe, unintellectual rantings about "socialism!" and attacks on the president's character and birthplace have been unhelpful and in some cases harmful.  Congress' approval ratings show this.

But they've done nothing of the kind even despite mounting approval for certain aspects of the law as they've come to fruition.

Sorry to break it to you, but it's not going to "blow up".  These roll-out issues have occurred with other similar reforms, including Med Part D and in Mass.

Can I ask a perfectly serious question of the opponents of Obamacare:

Is it actually your position that these liberals you seem to despise so deeply will continue to support Obamacare if it fails as completely as you think?

    Is that really your position?

If so pray don't EVER say anything about "divisive" politics. Because that's more insulting than any nonopoopoo word you might throw...
