We went to the library this morning to get a second bag full of books.  Painting and drawing are always fun.  As long as the electricity holds out we can have a dance party.

I got some fabric puff paint and plastic jewels at Michael's and "bedazzled" and painted a pair of my daughters jeans with her! All her friends where in aw...

I got some lollipop sticks, and a block of Styrofoam at Michaels put marshmallows on the tips of the sticks dipped them in melted chocolate then dipped them in - rainbow sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, graham cracker crumbs, riesies pieces ice cream toppings - stood up in Styrofoam block in fridge to set....

Purchased a $20 trunk of princess dress up clothes and shoes! best $20 ever spent my daughter and her friends destroyed it all from use!

Made Christmas ornaments - supplies @ Michaels...

I guess what I'm saying is...GO TO A CRAFTS STORE!

    Signed,

    Dad!

I put a rain coat on em and send em outside.

C'mon, we're not talking about a blizzard here. It's just rain!

I can't speak for the kids, but I like to spend my rainy days doing unpaid, uncredited research for boston.com. Fun!

I think 75% of the suggestions on that list were made by people w/o kids.

Glassblowing school?? Really? "Hey kids,  it's raining! Let's go blow some glass!"

      Plus, it's not really toddler-friendly.

Re: Rainy day fun with kids?

We go OUT in the rain.  Just this week we went for a walk by the ocean, splashed in puddles, played hide and seek and then the next day we had friends over in the rain and the kids dug in the garden in the mud, transferred water, etc.  You don't always have to avoid the rain.
