    Chiarelli's Track record

Lets see now....In three years of being the GM, this is what he is done.

-Traded Versteeg for Bochenski....Terrible evaluation of talent!!
-Real bad contracts to Ryder, Thomas (should have been two year deal), Morris (no need for him at all)
-threw Kessel under the bus last year
-throwing Savard under the bus this year
-in 3 drafts that Chiarelli has been in control, only one draft pick has played one game.
-said he thought the leaf pick would have been a top ten pick-lying M.F.! He had no clue, nobody thought the leafs would be that bad!
-brought in too many grinders, Julien type useless roll out four lines at all times kind of players.
-no need for a Shawn Thornton in todays NHL!
-Puts pressure on other players to pick up the slack left by Kessel and that got us no where, last in the league in goal scoring

The only positives in three years......

    -Trades for Horton and Seidenberg.

Lost alot of respect for Neely these last couple of years

Chiarelli is a f**king Moron with no direction and poor decision making abillities!

WOW the only positives are Horton and Seidenberg?  Where to begin?
Signed Chara, got Savard, Wheeler as a free agents, signed Julien ( wins Jack Adams) gets rid of soft, whiny Kessel for Seguin,  Knight and top 10 pick next year. Trades bag of pucks for Recchi and TBs second rounder this year which he turns into Seidenberg.  Poor moves Veersteeg, Ryder, overpaid thomas, lucic and Ference.  On balance Chia is one of the top GMs in the game not Lou Lamierello quite yet but he is doing great!

    WHO are you kidding?

     - Kessel threw the Bruins under the bus last year, he's a selfish, soft, 1-way player that the Leafs management complained about PUBLICLY beginning in January.

     - Savard threw Sobotka AND the B's under the bus after the "too many men" penalty that Savard was directly responsible for.

     - Ummm...going into this past season, literally EVERYONE knew the Leafs would be BRUTAL, which they were of course, so absolutely PC knew the first of the two Kessel #1 picks would be a top-10 pick.

     - What's wrong with "putting pressure" on your players?  That's what they're so highly paid for!  High expectations = high results, low expectations = low results.  It wasn't unreasonable to think that Bergeron, Ryder, Sturm and Lucic could have made up for Kessel's goals.  Bergy did his job, Ryder didn't, Sturm never got going after returning from injury and then getting hurt again, and Lucic had the bad thumb early, followed by the high ankle sprain.  Injuries happen, and the B's had more than their fair share last year.

     - Last in goals scored yes, but at or near the top in "goals against" for TWO seasons running is worth a helluva lot.  You win in the playoffs with defense first.  B's offense...with Horton and Seguin (and a PP QB on the point to be determined)...isn't that far from being where it needs to be.

And actually, I believe PC's quote was they thought some where between 7-10, not as high as second.. I think that most people thought that is where the leafs would fall, sounded logical to me..

Burke was the one saying "we picked 7th this year, we don't intend to pick that high again"

IMHO, whatever PC said publicly about the 2010 #1 Kessel pick wasn't what he was really thinking.  I mean, you can't publicly set expectations like that with the media and fans, can you?  So wisely he took the prudent route and said the pick would be 7-10 or 10-15, whatever it was.    But he had to know, as most hockey people did, that the Leafs would be brutal last season.  After all, they began the season with very little up front, slow D and lousy goaltending.  So a bad year for Toronto was predictable.  It had to be to PC too.

They had the 7 the year before, i believe he suspected they would have a similar finish, and were certainly improved up front.. Blue line I would say was improved, goal tending was in the same state as the previous year..

    His track record is:

    Lost in conference quarter-finals
    Lost in conference semi-finals
    Lost in conference semi-finals

In 20 years, I don't think people are going to look back and say, "Jeez, that Versteeg deal really did the B's in."

Lets not forget about his first coach Lewis which was a failure after one season! Julien style is no different than Lewis's! Oh, yah and that Jack Adams award did him wonders last year! 25 points less than the year before and barely made the playoffs! Seguin for Kessel landed in his lap, Chiarelli lucked out there!

Juliens system is completely different then Lewis's was..

Lewis came over from detroit, and tried to impliment an offense generated puck possession team that did not have the skill to do so, he was an awful pick for the job based on the parts that team had at the time..

Juliens a Defense first system, defense starts the offense, given the make up of the team, he was a good choice, but the bruins probably need to find some one you can work on developing younger players, as well as add something creative offensively..

SUCH bogus statements, but what do you expect from a troll?  The ONLY reason Chara (who played for Ottawa when PC as the Sens Asst. GM) and Savard (who was a client of PC's when PC was his agent) came to the B's was because PC came to Boston as GM.  As we ALL know, PC wasn't allowed to take office until August, 2006, due to a techicality that led to NHL reprimanding the B's, but the only thing Jeff Gorton did in signing Chara and Savard was to carry out PC's orders.

Lucky you say?  When EVERYONE in hockey KNEW the Leafs would be brutal this past season and that #1 pick would likely be a lottery pick?  So far, PC has received Seguin, Horton AND Knight for Kessel, with Toronto's 2011 #1 pick yet to go.  Anyone want to bet that pick won't be a Top-10?  No, this wasn't luck, it was the result of a brilliant trade by Chiarelli.
