Zach Hamill getting a call up....wonder if CJ puts him out for a shift or two...maybe someone is nursing a new injury....both Krejci and Recchi got hit with the puck against Carolina...will be interesting to see what he can deliver against the big boys....

Hamill- is it too soon to call him a bust?  He's been talked about for so long and done so little down in Prov...

    Re: Zach Hamill

stingerjp - too many threads on the Hamill question already, but I think the short version is, yeah, too early to say he's a bust because, after all, what does that mean in terms of what the Bs do?  He's under contract one more year, so they'll give him that one more year to prove he can play, and then they'll decide if he's a bust or not.  We'll know what they think when he signs his next contract.

However, it's not to early to predict whether he'll be a bust or not, and not just in the sense that most drafted players are busts.

Here's a decade worth of #7 overall picks - one pick higher than Hamill at #8.  Is Hamill that much of an oddity, especially given a weak draft year?

    1999 - Kris Beech (Caps)
    2000 - Lars Johnsson (Bruins)
    2001 - Komisarek (Shabs)
    2002 - Joffrey Lupul (Ducks)
    2003 - Ryan Suter (Preds)
    2004 - Rusty Olesz (Panthers)
    2005 - Jack Skille (Hawks)
    2006 - Kyle Okposo (Isles)
    2007 - Jakub Voracek (BJs)
    2008 - Colin Wilson (Preds)
    2009 - Nazem Kadri (Laffs)

Half those guys are depth players or never weres.  The last few years are too recent to judge - Okposo and Voracek look to be keepers, Wilson and Kadri have potential, and Skille is now tabbed as a possible 3rd liner at best.
