Steve Smith? Well we do know he used to be able to put the puck in his own net,
He'll never escape that.  Poor bastardo.
Watched that game and have seen the replay a million times, goal go's off Fuhr's skate, into the net,Smith realizes what he has done and sinks to his knees, the camera shows a close up of Smiths face and well.......how would you describe it. Despair, disbelief, shock and the gravity of what he had done in the third period of game 7 against their arch rival.

My point Book, is if the Oilers dont get goaltending like that, they will not win many games. They had no business winning that game. That team is terrible defensively, the only reason I wont say their as bad as the Panthers is becuase theyre forwards have the puck more.

Theyre not a Zdeno Chara or Shea Weber away from being fixewd back their either. They need some people who can play D back there.

Chris Neil putting on a show down at the ACC. He's got 2 goals and a sweet saucer pass for an assist. Kessel just got his third for the night, giving him 30 goals and giving the Lerfs back the 4-3 lead late in regulation.

I watched and I hate to admit Kessel looked good tonight.

I thought it was pretty funny that one of the highlights they showed was Kessel backchecking (wow!)

Kessel was outstanding tonite...No doubt about it...his second goal was a thing of beauty.. Top corner pick , and no chance for Anderson.... Only two players , Crosby and Kane, have registered more points than Kessel in last two seasons....that is pretty good company...

He did. Showed serious speed, got into a bit of a mix up with a Sen. That laser wrister of his is lethal.

Watching the home Flames vs Minnesota. Shortly after the opening faceoff Cammalleri, returning after a 9 game concussion absence got his mouth bloodied by a Matt Cooke high stick. Looked accidental. No call on the play. Later in the period Matt Stajan comes in on Cooke and gets his stick up in Cooke's choppers, bloodying his mouth.

Cooke goes down, gets up, looks around and is pissed there's no call. He looks for the nearest Flame, happens to be T. J. Brodie and lays a heavy hit on him near the boards. Gets called for interference as Brodie didn't have the puck. Flame Chris Butler comes flying in trying to lay some shots on Cooke's noggin but the refs were quick to jump in. Westgarth with the nice backhand pass to Gagliardi putting Calgary up 1-0 late in the first.

Of course the reformed Matt Cooke looked suprised after the call, RHO. We know he didn't intentionally hurt Karlsson last year Sealed

Not going to get a low scoring, trap game today between the Red Wings-Capitals. Howard is struggling with his positioning. Mobile but can't seem to track the puck or anticipate.

Wow -- last minute of Habs game vs jets with Price pulled. Fans went berserk when Gallagher got trapped in the zone in Montoya's net. A few good pokes to the grill by Montoya then 2 other players pwacked him pretty good as he tried to get back onside. Gallagher as you would expect kind of initiated everything but 1 roughing and 2 potential interference calls with nothing from the refs -- in Montreal no less. The Bell Centre may need a few repairs before the next home game.

Wish the B's would have done more of what the Jets did, no little grins out of the side of his mouth today from Gallagher, looked good on him. Good to see the Refs not influenced by the home crowd.

He was mondo-outraged, San. Eyes bugging out. Mouth full of blood. The cameras followed him as he made a bee-line and drilled the first Flame that crossed his path near the boards. Butler closed on him pretty fast trying to get in some shots before the refs jammed themselves in between. Unlike Butler who was still trying to wail away on his head, Cooke allowed the officials to shield him and dropped his hands.

Looks like power outage on most fronts tonite....only Bruins and Rangers able to score... A lot of games 1-0 or 0-0 thru almost two periods... Best score of the night, other than the B's... Thomas pitching a shutout over the Mighty Maple Leafs....

Not anymore. It's now 3-1 Panthers. Matthias just scored his 6th with under 5 mins. left in regulation.

It's final. Florida 4 - Leafs 1. So much for Toronto clamping down on the defensive end. Panthers had 48 shots to their 21.

Colour me surprised - when the jets fired Noel and brought in Maurice I said on this board with them being down 12 points that it might be too little too late. Now with a win tonight and a Canucks loss they'll find themselves in the final wild card spot. (It'd go down to the 4th tiebreaker). Talk about a hell of a turn around over a short time.

    From the rumour mill.

Word on multiple radio stations today had the Oilers currently talking trade with the Kings. Gagner from the Oilers was the principal name with possible multiple players involved.

If the big name reurn is Clifford this is a major fail.  The oilers need to get bigger and Gagner is  not the prototypical 2nd line center but he has some great skill.   If they can snag Clifford and Muzzin it would be a nice deal.   Maybe toss Schultz with Gagner.

Gagner for Clifford makes no sense, when I saw that rumor I wondered what else te Kings would be giving up.

Absolutely, but then again it's the reason the Oilers are who they are year after year.... Until the owner gets rid of all the ex-Oilers that are running this club and brings in a new set of eyes to run this organization it will fail...McTavish is way in over his head to lead this team and rebuild it to championship status....

All he has to do is sign a few more players like himself, go grab a goalie like they used to, get shea weber and chara and they are set.

NAS 2 like the real NAS doesn't really deal in fantasy trade scenarios. That's more of a " up the pooop shupe" thing.

Seriously, I'm thinking picks and prospects might be going the Oilers way. Like the Bruins the Kings want to add bodies to their big league roster not subtract.

    Just a guess though.

A guess is the same thing as fantasy.  Without looking im not sure what LA cap scene is like.  Oilers will have a hard time selling trading him for diddlypoo though.  Clifford is diddlypoo.
