Going to the game tonight so hopefully they show up for this one compared to the 8-2 let down of the other night.

Agree with the ones you have in bold, haven't seen much to say who from that group is a sure 3rd line player yet.

Could also be a battle for the back up spot in net tonight.

Caron in the land of bold - again, San.  Of the names you've highlighted, do any have the inside track for a spot or do you see it as it a dead heat?

Of the names not highlighted, if Johnson has another strong game he could make for some headaches and play his way onto this squad. That would definitely be a surprise. I don't think any of us condisdered him making the cut before camp started, and of all the potential third or fourth liners he seems to be the one trying to make the most of this shot.

I wonder if Julien throws Subban back in there to see how he responds. Not putting the blame on him,as the whole team was god awful but I'd like to see him try it.

Thanks Red, was hoping Jeff Hoggan would get a game as I know him.  Ex-Bruin from Hope, BC.  He was hurt earlier in training camp but think he is back now.

Kind of sums up what I think Julien wants as a 3rd line:

In fact, the best line so far tonight has been the group that could end up as the third line. Carl Soderberg, Chris Kelly, and Reilly Smith are skating together for the first time this preseason, and they've generated more chances than any other line, with four combined shots (two for Smith, one for Kelly, one for Soderberg). The Bruins as a team have six.

AND Soderberg scores again as I'm posting.  BadHab, he read our disappointment.

exactly !  Did Soderberg really score ?  If there's nobody in the woods and a tree falls does it make a sound ?

Sounds like Spooner is playing well, too.  I only say that because I'm hearing his name a lot.

Maybe but I really think the 3rd line is set, Julien's comments of Reilly Smith last week convinced me. Now maybe the other guys are playing for the extra forward they will bring along in case Campbell of Bergeron are no goes.   I doubt it'll be Spooner, he needs to play. It could be Nick Johnson and/or Caron.  Fraser might not have done enough to get a spot.

I got the link from the Red Wing's homepage. Not sure it matters but try it from there. The link behaves differently when I just paste it in a new window. Asks me to choose a favorite video or something.

I hope Nick Johnson - stay with the hot hand as he's been scoring lately.  He'll probably cool off and when he does ship him down to Providence.
