    Defense

Great win tonight we needed it. PC should be looking for pucking moving D. This group looks really slow, too many defensive lapses 47 shots on net tonight. Depending on how Bergeron is back end help is top priority.

Striet or Boyle but the islanders say they won't trade Striet , so they say.

IF Bergy is OK (and let's hope he is), that means lines like these:

    Lucic-Krejci-Jagr

    Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin

    Caron-Peverley-Horton

    Paille-Campbell-Thornton

But, problem is, Caron has not what it takes....so, there's need to find another winger, PLUS a defenseman (Ferrence had ANOTHER tough night to say the least).

If Bergy is out, then, we're in deep sh*t, that's all !

I really don't see how Chiarelli won;t bring in a D-man on a trade tomorrow.  When Hamilton looked hurt I was starting to panic.

So Great Carnac who do you think the Bruins bring in ?

That would be ideal. It certainly doesn't have to be a flashy move.

Boyle or Striet would do it but I expect neither Boyle cap hit I was told 6 M and Striet wants a contract EX before being traded that's the latest.

Streit has no rights regarding trades though. It's not up to him.

    Bartkowski.  Krug.  Johnson.

I think they plan to roll with Bartkowski until McQuaid is healthy.  Steve (best part about calling him Steve is you could mean either the old Falcons Qb or Bartman) played under 12 minutes tonight, but he was +1 and didn't make any glaring mistakes.

I thought he played fairly well and I think he's tied with Iginla for points since the "trades".

I thought Bartkowski played well tonight also.

He had one nice play when he dove for a loose puck and cleared it while Khudo was off wandering around somewhere.

My guess is Ryan Whitney the local boy from the Oilers for a 4th and 5th round pick.

Other than a top-4 D, I really want them to pick up a legit point getter. Say what you will about Ales Hemsky and his injuries but the pure fact is the guy can flat out play and has immense offensive talent. He is dynamite on the powerplay and moves the puck extremely well. Hes a playmaking scorer, which there are not that many around.

I know people tend to knock the guy because hes not that physical, but who cares, this team is filled with rugged physical guys. Its time to roll the dice and bring in someone with true offensive flare.

Ales Hemsky would fit best on a line with Krejci and Jagr, a true "Czech" line. I know there may be concerns about the defensive side but it's not like Lucic and Horton get back to backcheck on a consistent basis either.

These would be my lines going into the playoffs:

    Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin (The do EVERYTHING line)

Hemsky-Krejci-Jagr (Could be lethal in the offensive zone)

Lucic-Soderberg-Horton (This line has the big boys all over 200lbs and 6')

    Paille-Campbell-Kelly (Smart checking/grinders)

    Chara-Hamilton

    Seidenberg-Boyle

    Ference-Boychuk

    Re: Defense

Their breakout has been anywhere from so-so to horrible. Too many bad passes, too many turnovers, too many bad decisions. Some of this is on the forwards for not getting open or for not accepting the pass cleanly. They haven't been able to move out of their own end with a quick, clean transition often enough. Better last night but they played poorly too often when Ottawa had the puck in the Boston end. So to me, I think a D-man that can help the team break out of their own end and transition to offence is the bigger need. I think they can tighten up in their own end with what they have. Boyle remains my first choice.

Yep and if PC didn't go after Bouwmeesters $6M for next year he isn't going after Boyle's.
