Biggest disappointment for me is with the call-ups (including Caron.) I was just hoping one of them would really take the opportunity and explode. Instead, we just haven't seen much other than some really fast Spooner skating.

Yah those call-ups really stunk during the 4 game win streak!

Caron is regressing from mediocre to useless.  That's not a facepalm.

But, the team does play well in spite of him.   Tonight they lost 6-2.  It happens and will happen again before the season is over.

It's really just Caron.  Once Paille is back in the lineup, the 3rd and 4th line will be better.  Caron  is just a black hole for the guys who have to share ice time with him; he brings them down.

Spooner is a keeper. Will replace Kelly for the whole season.

I really hoped Jordan Caron would pan out. Without trying to sound too negative from one loss on the trip I'd say he really to needs to step up his game. I havent seen anything from him, even in the wins. Almost lifeless out there.

I actually thought that and the ring kissing move was funny. Guys like Kesler were talking so Marchand reminded him who has a ring. That's the Marchand I love.

The game was much too late for me to watch, so here's my take on the comments that have been reported here. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that Caron maintained the energy he initially showed. If not, it is time to trade the kid to where he can grow. Sounds like Rask 's flu took over as the game progressed. Bergie's line is playing better with smith involved. Hope iginla isn't sidelined. Teams are taking advantage of krug's size.

    Re: Game 33: Van v. Bruins (12/14/13)

The problem wasn't Krug's size, bogie.  He made some bad decisions and some soft plays and got burned for it.  He was just bad; reminder that he is, after all, still a rook.

I though Caron played better than Spooner, Fraser, or Johnson to be honest, but he was the guy Seidenberg tried to feed on the pinch before the Booth goal, and if he can handle the pass, it doesn't end up a three on one going the other way.  But on that line, he was more physical and made more positive plays than either of his linemates.  To no avail, sure, and he hasn't made any kind of impact in months, but I don't think the issue is either effort or willingness to do the job he's been given.

My biggest disappointment was Spooner.  Couple of bad giveaways including on the PP, and far too many occasions where he tried to skate through the D all by himself.  That was what got Kessel and Seguin in trouble, and he's neither of them.

Pretty hard to win a game when only 2 of the 4 lines are doing anything. With the exception of Kevan Miller (who's game i love) ~ the AHL call ups have been a huge disappointment so far.

    Re: Game 33: Van v. Bruins (12/14/13)

I really didnt expect the Bs to perform at 100 percent when they have been battling the flu and 6 regulars out. VC came to play for revenge of the 2011 ousting in the SCF by the Bs, add to that , that JT and the ramgers were ousted last year by the Bs gave him even more motive to want this game and they took advantage of a team that was certainly below 100 percent healthy and missing regulars. Caron is moved around alot when he plays so his style never gets a chance to settle, adding the rest from providence is just a patch to keep this team going, none really get a chance to play there game.

Brad Marchand needs new skates, he cant turn without falling, and his showing off 0f the finger once was ok but classless to do it again, hes writing his own ticket out of town soon imo.

Great work with Miller on the D and smith really is the the peice of the seguin deal that will shine.
