    Game 48: Boston at Chicago

CHICAGO -- Welcome to the United Center, where the Bruins and Blackhawks will meet up for the first time since ... well, you know.

It's an unusual 11:30 a.m. start here in the Central time zone, which is something most of the players haven't experienced in years. In fact, Milan Lucic estimated he was 14 the last time he played a game this early in the day.

There was a lot of talk of the "hurt" that still exists for the Bruins from that Stanley Cup Final, with Lucic discussing the fact that he has replaced the final 1:15 of Game 6 probably 100 times in his head.

The Bruins can't erase that, but getting two points today would certainly help this year's team after Boston went through a dip against some of the tough Western Conference opponents in the last two weeks.

    Game time: 12:30 p.m.

    TV/Radio: NBC/98.5 The Sports Hub

    Records: Bruins 30-15-2, Blackhawks 31-8-11

    Projected lineups:

    Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
    Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Reilly Smith
    Carl Soderberg-Ryan Spooner-Loui Eriksson
    Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

    Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
    Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid
    Matt Bartkowski-Kevan Miller

    Tuukka Rask
    Chad Johnson

Notes: The Blackhawks are first in the NHL in goals per game, with 3.54. ... Chicago is 4-5-1 in its last 10 games. ... The Bruins are still without Dougie Hamilton (concussion), who did not make the trip to Dallas and Chicago. ... Tuukka Rask is back in goal after Chad Johnson got the win on Thursday against the Stars. ... The Bruins will travel home immediately after the game, with the Kings scheduled to face them at TD Garden at 3 p.m. on Monday in a tough back-to-back. ... The referees are Brad Meier and Don VanMassenhoven. The linesmen are Ryan Galloway and Andy McElman.

Hawks are simply flying into the zone.  Gotta slow them down.

Chara has to "fire" that puck as soon as its on his stick.  What.. this board won't let me write the word "sho*t"?

Bookboy figured out what the Bruins were missing besides a little luck and those bounces ?

Bruins are creating chances while not passing well at all. Ok so a dirty goal will need to create some confidence, then just tighten up the passing into the offensive zone better play will come.

Expose Crawford Bruins. Marchand knew where he wanted to put that puck before he got it. That's the difference between Marchand and the rest of the Bruins today.

    Great snipe by #63!

Exploit the run and gun style of the Hawks - their D is their weakeness because of it.   And Crawford has come to earth this season.

Marchand seems to have his legs back. Good thing because the team needs him to be flying.

Was going to say difference -- Hawks opportunistic -- Bruins not but Marchy changed all that. Shows the adventage of the little extra shooting space you get when skating on the off wing.

If/when Kelly comes back, I would think Boston's counterattack will improve a lot.
