Game 6 preview: Bruins at Maple Leafs

TORONTO – Good morning from the Air Canada Centre, where the Bruins will have their second take at eliminating the Maple Leafs from the playoffs. The Bruins dropped Game 5 at TD Garden, 2-1. The Bruins will look to apply the same pressure they showed in Game 5’s third period for 60 minutes tonight.
Wade Redden, out for Game 5 because of an undisclosed injury, could be back in tonight’s lineup. Redden participated in an optional practice Saturday at the Garden. If Redden goes back in, Matt Bartkowski would be a healthy scratch.

Storylines: If the Leafs win tonight, Game 7 will be Monday at the Garden at 7 p.m. That does not give either team much turnaround time, especially if tonight’s game goes into overtime… The Bruins are 10-13 all-time in Game 6 when they have a 3-2 series lead… David Krejci brings a five-game scoring streak into tonight. Krejci has five goals and six assists in the series… Dan O’Rourke and Brad Meier will be the referees. Steve Barton and Brian Murphy will be the linesmen.
Andrew Ference will not play tonight because of an undisclosed injury. Ference did not make the trip to Toronto yesterday. Ference is considered day-to-day, said Claude Julien.“Didn’t make the trip for the right reasons,” Julien said. “We’re heading back home tonight, one way or another. He’s a day-to-day.”
This will mark the second game Ference will miss in the series. Ference was suspended for Game 2 because of his illegal check to the head of Mikhail Grabovski in Game 1. Ference’s status further muddies the defensive lineup. Wade Redden skated this morning and practiced yesterday, but the ex-Blue is a game-time decision for tonight. Redden didn’t play in Game 5 because of an undisclosed injury.
If Redden can play, he will most likely replace Ference as Johnny Boychuk’s partner on the No. 2 pairing. If Redden can’t go, Dougie Hamilton could dress for the second time in the series. However, if Hamilton goes in, Dennis Seidenberg would have to switch to the left side and be split from Zdeno Chara.
The guess here is that Redden will dress. Tonight’s expected lineup:
Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Tyler Seguin
Rich Peverley-Chris Kelly-Jaromir Jagr
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara-Dennis Seidenberg
Wade Redden-Johnny Boychuk
Matt Bartkowski-Adam McQuaid
