    Krecji 10/23 in 46gm

    Ryan 11/19 in 46gm

You realize that's a ridiculous statement.  Sort of like "all he does is catch touchdowns"?

He led playoff scoring for the second time in three years, and he was killing Philly the year  before that.  He's finished first or second on the team in scoring every year but one since becoming a regular.  The way the Bruins distribute ice time, that's a better measure than comparing his numbers to Nash or any other player who plays two or more minutes more per game.

    Not really...

So because Krecji had a nice playoff run we are supposed to excuse him and his 5.25M cap hit as he coasts through the regular season like he does every year? This was his best regular season in terms of consistency and it wasn't enough to best Nash in his first year on a new team.

No, because he elevates his game in the playoffs all the time, and because on this team - a Cup finalist and a top tier RS club for half a decade now - he is an offensive leader every year without demanding the extra $3+M Nash gets to lead an underachieving Rangers team in scoring.  He's a pklayoff warrior and a steady, solid, team oriented scorer in the RS.

Led the league in scoring 2 out of the last 3 years.

Bruins also had two prolonged runs in the post season...more games gives you more opportunity for points.

    2010-11 Playoffs

7 Gms vs MTL 1G/0A/-1 = No Show

4 Gms vs PHI 4G/5A/+6 = Dominated an injured/overmatched team

7 Gms vs TBL 5G/2A/Even = 3 of 5 goals came in one game...TB scored 5 goals 4 times in series

7 Gms vs VAN 2G/4A/+3 = Good series

    2012-13 Playoffs

7 Gms vs TOR 5G/8A/+9 = Dominated series

5 Gms vs NYR 0G/4A/Even = Ugly series between teams, but contributed

    4 Gms vs PIT 4G/0A/+5 = Produced

    6 Gms vs CHI 0G/4A/-1 = Underwhelming

So in each playoff run his stats were padded by a huge series (PHI/TB and TOR), but no showed in series also (MTL and CHI). What do you know...? Krejci being inconsistent in the playoffs, too...

3 Gms vs PHI 1G/2A/+2 = Strong start, but injured...Bs missed him in this series

    2011-12

Krejci's become an untouchable to me....  which wasn't always the case....

i've come to distinguish his play during the regular season from that of the post-season....  not that he hasn't been good during the regular season but he's left me wanting more....  but as someone pointed out, Krejci elevates his play come playoffs....

Krejci was as instrumental as any other B'S player during this year's run....

    Huh?

I'm not blaming him for anything...I only said he is a streaky regular season player and tried to show that he is a streaky playoff player, too. He has this reputation for being a superstar in the playoffs because he led the league in playoff scoring twice. Well - when you're the most offensive minded forward that gets significant ice time on a defense first time that plays deep into the playoffs twice...you might have more points than other players who played less games in the playoffs.

Love the whole DK line & hope they stay intact. I truly believe this B's team will be even hungrier next yr and will not only have a great regular season, but another deep run. They'll show the hockey world they're the "new Detroit" Always there, always dangerous!

Agree 100% hate to see him leave,he just steps it up in playoffs.when it counts, have no doubt if he didn't have the bad shoulder Bruins would have beaten Chicago,no way they could contain that line.

Being the top scorer two of the last three seasons is NOT being 'inconsistent'.

I always point that out as well MeanE.

Also saying that 5 points in 6 games is mostly quiet? That's almost a PPG. There are VERY few players in the NHL that can boast almost a ppg in the playoffs.

Re: GM wanna bees on Boston.com Krejci performamce vs Bobby Ryan and Rick Nash

I cant believe some of you are trying to justify regular season vs playoffs. There is nothing worse than a player who is paid top dollar and doesnt show up for the playoffs. Its a sport it happens, but we as fans expect these type players to perform all the time. It just doesnt happen. Really, how important is the regular season. Its all about getting to the playoffs. So Nash had 42 points in the regular season, then disappeared in the playoffs. Id rather have mediocre play from a top player in the regular season, who shows up for the playoffs. Playoffs and the SC are what matter. Regular season is important for the owners and making money.
