Have to be very excited and happy today if your a REAL bruins fan

The club today is showing me that they are trying to win now and this season. Do do todays moves mean we are going to win a stanley cup? No but at least this GM today is showing some urgency and agression. I don't know why some seem so upset we are giving up coleborn. He is a good prospect at this stage thats all he is. Kaberle upgrades us a lot expecialy on the PP. I know stanley cupbruins doesn't like getting rid of wheeler but what has he done since the the first 2 months of his rookie season? If somehow we added Richards I would be shocked in a good way.

agreed this has been a great day for the boston bruins as far as using trades to make this team better now. this was a team that was in  the discussion when it came to talk about the teams that could make a run at the stanley cup before the chris kelly trade nevermind the work the front office did in 2day.

The moves are good.  This is a better team than it was before the trades.  I like it.  Colborne's value was probably going to drop as he languished in the minors.  Peverly's a great pick up, Kelly adds depth and Kaberle was the teams biggest need.  I also like that we kept the TO Pick, Caron and Boychuck.  Wheelers not 19 or 20, he probably isn't going to get a lot better, and Stuart is far too inconsistant.

Brings us depth up front, depth on defense... Today is a good day!!

Now, we need our top 6 guys to bring it every night and get some consistency going. Let's hope the new guys gel well with the rest of the boys and I really like what we look like!!!

Argueably the most well balanced team in the east!

PC definitely filled a few needs for this team:

    1. Speed: Peverly and Kelly are speed demons.

    2. Mobile Defenceman/PP specialist: Kaberle fits the bill (if he signs an extension even better)

And he only gave up two underachievers, a prospect, and acouple of picks in a weak draft.

    Kudos.

I have ripped PC in the past but today he deserves creadit. Like another poster said hopefuly now we see a team that brings effort from the drop of the puck until the final whistle of the game.

Happy? I'm not happy, especially with the Atlanta trade. That trade is absolutely horrible. Valibik has no skill & is undisciplined. Peverley isn't an upgrade over Wheeler. Yes,he has more points than Wheeler does right now, but I'd rather have Wheeler in the long run. This is obviously a cap dump & it make Atlanta better not us. I wish they would've dumped Ference instead of Stuart. Lately, it has looked lik Ference doesn't care.

Even though I'm not a big fan, Kaberle should help the power play. However, we have to resign him. This is a lot to give up, if it is just a rental. I wonder how he will respond to play in meaningful games. He hasn't played in one in a while.

Here's my beef.  Kaberle isn't physical... and hasn't played in a single NHL playoff game since 2004.  Peverly isn't physical... and he's played in a total of 6 NHL playoff games in his career.  This style of play will not beat the types of gritty, veteran teams you've been beaten by the last 2 years in the playoffs.

PC is definitely trying so some credit is due...after his lame attempt last year at the deadline he needed to do something this year...time will tell if he is ultimately successful or not.

I like the moves though I'm disappointed about losing Wheeler. He didn't real pan out but I have this feeling he's gonna go ahead and score 35-40 next year.

again brutal and also will make the b's a worse team in future    all you thinking this a good trade will be whining and bitchin about it in nere future    this orginization is pathetic    kaberle brings amother soft player with no heart and no experience in playoffs

Kaberle's deal has not been officially confirm by the NHL yet....

But I have mixed feelings about the deals...losing Wheeler-Stuart-Colborne, our 1st draft pick and our second .....I am shaken up ...I need to sleep a few hours  I am really sad ....I have a few tears to let go and I will get back later today ...

Maybe So but I doubt it. Blake wheeler should be dominating every night with his skill set and size. I don't think he has the agression in him to reach his full potential. I have seen enough games of blake play for us not to care that hes now gone.

Wheeler likely will never score 35-40 goals in a single season....this is not to say he is a terrible player, he is just not a go-to goal scorer which is why the B's are trading him. Promise does not equal output....

I think cautiously optimistic is about right, and none of this nonsense about who is a true Bruins fan and who isn't.

I think the Bruins overpayed for Kaberle.  That said, they had the assets to overpay, it is a bad trade market, and it was probably the only way to get better.  Kaberle better be good though.

I like the Atlanta deal.  PC has managed a very tight cap situation without giving up too much and bringing some useful parts back in return.  Peverly will make the 3rd line better.

A mixed bag, but it definitely makes them better for this year's run.

If we don't resign Kaberle, these trades are stupid. We have to resign him. If you let Kaberle walk at the end of the season, you have basically traded Joe Colborne, Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart, a 1st round pick & a conditional pick for RIch Peverly & Boris Valabik. That is a really bad trade any way you look at it

I still think we need a winger.

I would think PC will make bringing back kaberle his top off season move. Assuming savy doesn't come back we have about 13 mill in capspace for next season.

I am cautiously optimistic as well. And who knows how these trades will really pan out? Maybe Kelly scores the game winner in game 7 of the finals, maybe Kaberle will be a bust like Al Iafrate. Fact is that PC had to do something, and he responded. Of course I would have prefered to see Ryder & Wheeler traded for Rick Nash, but we all know that wasn't going to happen.
