JJ counting his cash... and collecting IOUs

Aha! A bit more light has been shed on the Chara non-suspension now that we know Jeremy Jacobs has been the main backer for Bettman's $7 million/year contract renewal... back in November. Now we can better understand why Bettman is "extraordinarily" comfortable with the Chara decision. According to Bettman this is all "old news". Except for the fact that it comes out 4 months after the fact. Think about it: JJ and GB are probably the two most powerful people in the NHL at the moment, they both scratch each other's back and have never shown any true love or understanding for the game of hockey. The NHL is truely in the hands of a corrupt mafia. Don't be fooled: this fact is far more important than any team rivalries or isolated on-ice incidents.

    Yep, the fix is in.

Just like you award a goal on a breakaway on an empty net, the league will simply award the Stanley Cup to the Bruins.  No reason to continue playing.

How is Max Pac?  Why doesn't anyone talk about his health?  Is his career over?

And speaking of the mob, what about all of those assaults that happen in junior?

Talk abut intention, that Cormier kid hitting Tam...  I saw Cormier lift his elbow back and throw it against Tam's head.

    Why isn't Cormier in jail?

Oh, and don't be naive.  I'm not convinced that JJ has the inside track on getting the fix in, but I am sure someone does.  The league has been utterly corrupt from day 1.  Owners took advantage of players for decades to the point  where they would make the robber barons jealous.

Look at the original 6.  I would have been boring if the Leafs and Habs exchanged the cup every year.  So they got 4 American teams like pro wrestling had guys that got beat up every week.  And since most of the American crowds understood nothing about hockey they decided to allow fighting to keep the circus side show going.

The owners are all counting their cash.  Bettman is marketing the sport like Nascar where 99.9% of the people never participated in the sport.

Really.  Seriously.  As much of a hockey fan as I am, the NHL is a joke.  Always has been corrupt, always has been run like a circus.
BH, So you're saying we should spend more time and energy on past events we can no longer control than on the circumstances that caused them and could therefore prevent similar events in the future? The notion that everyone except a few antisocial personalities are hoping for Pac's speedy and complete recovery should be self-evident. Please do not try to throw up dust to confuse the issues.
    Posted by Lafleur1979
OK.  I won't.  Yes, the league is corrupt.

    Prevent similar circumstances?

By doing what?  Not buying a ticket?  Not buying a retro Gump Worsley jersey from the Habs store?  Or my not buying a pair of Bruins ear muffs from the Bruins store?

If I don't or you don't someone else will.

If Air Canada pulls out, they'll find someone else, like Viagra or a company where you can book a cruise for a Russian or Columbian mail order bride.

Hey, I am fully aware I'm wasting my time as are you.  I love hockey, played bantam, high school, college and still play now so I am gladly wasting my time discussing this with you.

But at no given moment do I have any delusion that what I say will matter to the owners or NHLPA.

If the NHL were serious they would immediately eject people for fighting.  If they were serious, full facial protection would be mandatory.  True, what they have now totally and utterly is horrible, it fogs up or half blinds you, but if NHL  players were required to wear the stuff then the technology would improve to the point where people would want to wear it.

But that's not happening, and it won't because fighting and violence sells.

oh such an ugly incident.  Yet CNN is showing up in the Bruins dressing room.  You don't think they want the publicity, even if its negative?

Don't kid yourself, they are ALL out to make a buck and don't care about you or me.  They know they have you and me.

They want to sell to the idiots out there, to the same people who go to NASCAR where 3% want to see racing and 90% want to see a crash and the other 7% can't spell their own names.
