    NBC coverage

    1.  Doc Emerik's voice was fun 15 years ago.  Now it's nails on a chalkboard.

    2.  Eddie O is a total dip.

    3.  The huge scoreboard banner across the top is absurd.  It has two NBC logos, it says NBC twice, is far too large and the rest of the top of the screen is dark.

    4.  What's the deal with this shift clock?

Yeah.....I still like Doc.  But agree that EO doesn't bring anything.  And the NBC banner is a bit much.  Wish the game was on NESN but so be it.

Also, Pierre is a complete joke.  It adds no viewing enjoyment to have him in between the benches.

Further on that, coaches are busy during the game.  Don't bother them with mindless interviews.

Lastly, I cannot stand the national games due to the stupid tidbits of info they need to shove down our throats.

Five minutes left in the first and Doc has said that the Wings are a little bit embarrassed so far.  It's 2-1.

Don't tell me how they feel.  These guys are terrible.

Assuming the NBC game is to capture to the American audience, why you make a tool like Pierre part of the broadcast is a head-scratcher.

Camera goes to Stuart giving Holmstrom the business in the corner.

"I don't know what defines cross checking, but this is pretty close.  He doesn't have two hands on the stick, so that's probably why they don't call it."

Yeah, because that's not cross checking.

Baseball and football have the biggest fan bases and biggest TV viewership.

Hot chicks with mics (for the most part).

Hockey:  Some like it, most don't.

    Phallic Pierre.

Pierre is such a wuss, all he talks about is where a guy is from and his track record before the NHL.

I don't feel like rewinding to get the exact quote, but it was something about blah blah straight predatory revenge.

Yes it was.  Don't do that again.

Between periods is painful to watch.  Looks like Milbury wants to knock-out Pierre as he patronizes him by calling him "enlightened".  Not sure there is a greater insult to bestow on a hockey guy than that from Pierre.

1500 career PIMs and over 75 career fights probably gives him the latitude to use the tough-guy persona a bit.

Milbury lost a lot more than he won, but he would go.  1500+ PIM says that.

Here's the "wanna be tough guy" in one of his better attempts:

I would enjoy Mike & Pierre in a bare knuckle fist fight.

I would pay money to see that.

Why am I thinking that Pierre would rather have it be bare knuckle wrestling?

don't go there with stats. He acts like a tough guy but he's not in the class of terry, stan or cash. they never acted like a aloof snob like milbury does on tv.remeber his tilt with nystrom years ago. wasn't pretty for a guy that talks tough,

Don Cherry is getting old and Milbury wants that role.  He's pulling it off like MOC did Sinden.
