Overlooked: Providence is going to be fun to watch this year

They will have Subban, 2 of the guys (maybe 3) from the Seguin trade, maybe Bart or Krug, maybe some of the Euros from this draft.  And a goalie from somewhere.

Fraser or Reilly-Bourque-Spooner (Bourque might have to be moved)

    Cunningham-Khokhlachev-Camper or Griffin

    Caron-Knight-Camara

    Robins-Randell-Flick

    Morrow-Casto

    Trotman-Cross

    Warsofsky-Moore

Edit: Nick Johnson just signed. Played for the Coyotes last year.

    Svedberg

    Subban

    Dawg likey!

Re: Overlooked: Providence is going to be fun to watch this year

I'm guessing they won't be signing Tardif, so the top line of Bourque-Spooner-Tardif will be completely re-invented.  Spooner between Cunningham and Fraser?

Won't have Krug and probably not Bartkowski, but will have Morrow.  The skill level on the back end might be a bit challenged with only Morrow and Warsofsky having any history of offensive contribution, but they have size with Casto, Miller, Trotman and Cross.  Morrow's not an NCAA smurf, either.

Definite youth movement up front, though. No room to bring back Whitfield, Tardif or Hansen when you have this many young guys who you're looking to develop as skill players:

Spooner, Fraser, Smith, Khokhlachev, Knight, Camara, Griffith, Camper, Cunningham, Caron.

And you also have a number of 3rd line type players who could be NHLers:

Fallstrom, (Caron and Camara could be in this group), Lindblad, Flick, Florek.

That's 14 forwards and it doesn't include re-signed skating clown Robins.

Very fluid situation down there, I think.  Hard to repeat as top RS team.  A development year that hopefully includes the playoffs.

    Are you not entertained?!?!

Think Chris Bourque signed with the KHL.

It's too bad they don't ever get to play here in Toronto.

Too much regional play in the AHL.

I agree, Wheat.  While I can understand the idea of saving money on travel, it gets boring sometimes when you're a big AHL fan.  I've held season tickets in Worcester, Manchester and Portland.  You know who I saw?  Worcester, Manchester, Portland, Providence and Springfield.  1,000,000 times.

Thanks Crowls that answers my question, had forgotten about that. I don't see Cunningham and Camper being seperated they had a real great run in March together when Tardif was hurt. So Griffith, KoKo and Caron will get shots at the 1st line in camp I believe.

"Morrow's not an NCAA smurf, either."

PS. Oh forgot to mention recent Providence Dman signings Nick Johnson played at Dartmouth and Mike Moore played at PrinCeton (StamPkos Campus). Can't believe I missed that.

Just as I cannot believe you spelled Princeton with an "s".

LOL.  (Relax, San, I'm just joking.)
