Ugh. Seriously? Out of the top 6, I think Chara and Krug are the only ones to not get hurt so far, if I'm not mistaken. This is ridiculous.

Boychuk and McQuaid are going to be relied upon more than ever to be shutdown guys. Looks like Johnny re-re-strength is going to be part of the "shutdown pair" in the playoffs.

Do they really have a choice now though? They can't keep pushing Chara over 25 minutes. They have to let the young guys loose.

other than schultz, i don't think any of those guys are available. i don't really want schultz. you're going to have to go after a contract with an extra year or two left on it.

I think our D looks great... lots of depth there. But I don't think management will allow so much youth in the lineup come playoff time (unless no reasonable trade options are available.)

Was there ever a specific report on what his lower body injury was? With all the attention on Krug, I thought he was quietly having a good year!

See who falls out of the race come the trade deadline.  Gotta look at a rental, really, since Seids will likely be back next year.

Other than that, I lean towards giving Dougie the big chance here.  He's got 4 months to build up his game to play those minutes.

maybe he's shocked that orpik was listed because the penguins are going to be a top seed and probably wouldn't trade a top pairing d man.

there is nothing in the rental category that is appealing to me.
