Sorry CJ's system isn't working

Is the system what made Horton to play a drop pass to no-one when clean through on goal? Did the system make Savard pass the puck straight to Clutterbuck? These offensively talented players sure made a good job of shooting themselves in the foot.

As for Milbury for coach... I'd rather give the job to Kathryn Tappen. At least she's easier on the eye.

Chara no longer plays with any kind of mean streak, neither does Lucic, the team seems to have no creativity it's like Clod has coached them into being robots (go here do this not that etc.) the power play absolutely SUX. the effort seems to be there most of the time but no execution at all. CLOD MUST GO!!

It's not the system, its lack of hustle and consistent mental toughness which results in sloppy execution. During their recent road trip, with the exception of the Buffalo Game, the Bruins were aggressive in all areas of the ice and as a result they earned eight out of a possible ten points. Against the Wild, they were constantly out hustled - particularly in the defensive zone. The only forwards that were aggressive throughout the game IMHO were Seguin and Bergeron - they were outstanding.

Oh, and as to the "system" causing problems with the offense, two years ago the Bruins were the second leading scoring team in the league - same system, same coach.

Amen. Chara is an outstanding talent, but with his size and strength he should be rocking opponents on a nightly basis and somebody needs to have sit down and remind Looch why he became a force in this league and how much his former level of aggressiveness meant to the team. Yes, he has some nice offensive skills, but when he's not hitting about half his effectiveness is lost. About the power point, either Claude tells Savard to get his *** off the half board and rotate once in a while (he's become too predictable - opponents are laying off of him and covering down on the others) or take him off and let Krejci and Seguin run with it. Savard still looks lost out there, which given the severity of his injury is understandable - he's not ready for full time yet.

...I don't disagree with everyones comments...but even if Claude would show a little fire once in awhile...maybe the rest of the team would follow his lead..its not too many teams that can say their 4th line plays with the most intensity.  And I can't remember the last time that the players stuck up for each other...

Bingo. The system works when they are playing at an intense level that they seem not capable of keeping to.

TC - How do you know that CJ doesn't "show fire"?  I see him ticked off on the bench when the refs make a bad call, and he isn't shy about benching players.  He doesn't seem like the type of guy that would embarrass himself with bad behavior in front od 17,565 fans.  How do you know he isn't throwing an absolute nutty in the locker room on occasion?  He might be, no one knows except for the people in the room.

Here's the real problem... The system, the players in the team and the schedule
just don't add up to a winning combination. The system demands quick skaters
(more suitable for the Montreal team). The size of the Bruins players does not make them a fast team. The schedule, often 3 games in 4 nights means the players cannot play full out game in and game out. They are pacing themselves
to make it through the season and into the playoffs. Hopefully, the playoffs will
show us what this team is really made of.

How about the game against Atlanta on Dec 23rd. High hit on Lucic. Ference jumps in. Does that count as sticking up for each other?

The system is in first place. so if you don't use the system, do you get higher in the standings? Also the system was No. 1 in the NHL in points two seasons ago. Would the B's have gotten more points and been higher than No. 1 without the system? If the team was out of a playoff spot, you can't squawk to your heart's content. Until then, your arguments for an offensive, free-wheeling system is off base.
