And they didn't even need to bring back Miro Satan or pull Miroslav Frycer out of retirement to win.

Okay Stanley back to your Jekyll and Hyde thinking.

good win, and lots of speed and agressive hockey. A few major groans  when Lucic fed out across the crease and no one was there as Claude's center changes led to some confusion, or just lack of chemistry. Peverly benefitted from Bergeron's and Lucic's hard play.Timmy was mediocre, actually lucky to get out alive. The PP still stinks out the joint as the players abide by their coaching more so than instinct and speedier moves. No beef on Kreji's line gives the Caps a free reign on slamming all three forwards. Marchand was a favorite target trying to provake retaliation. Might help to give Marchand a rest and insert Caron. Third man has to remain between the circles to grab those rebounds. Cap defense left Paille all alone and it hurt.

True, but he was responsible for 2 goals, too. Nice job to dig himself out of being the goat, no doubt.

I felt the team played inconsistently, but not bad.  I think that leaves them with nowhere to go but up.  They need to stop taking Washington's bait around the whistles and just beat them to pucks and will themselves to get in front of Holtby.

    First Peverly and now Marchand.

Eventually you'll work your way down the depth chart to one of the fourth liners to who Caron might actually replace if a shakeup is needed or barring injury.

    Until then Julien sits Caron.

Caron could not be worst than Thornton in this series ...sorry for Shawn but he is useless in these series so far ....Next game I expect a few points from Krejci-Looch-March-Bergeron-Seguin ....the machine is on its way for a second Stanley Cup in a row ...

He'd have had one himself if Paille's pass hadn't been two feet behind him.  Fourth line looked like an asset last night - more so than some.

4 goals without Horton, Seguin, Marchand, and Lucic.

Bergeron and Krejci haven't scored but have looked okay Imo.

The "lets break up every line (including the third one, which is carrying us) just so we can play Caron" thinking is getting on my nerves too.

    Thanks for posting this, Chowdah!
