Re: 2 years running the refs give the series away

Noone here is  blaming the loss strictly on the refs, but they sure helped.  Every time we were making a run, they called a travel.  Lebron never gets called for legitmate travels....

Did we lose the game, Yes, but its hard to keep overcoming bad calls.  Many times we were in control of the game and when we tried to pull away, out come the b.s calls, are you gonna argue that waynstarr?

This team lost due to turnovers and bad execution down the stretch, but its the bad calls that kept it close and allowed the Heat to be in striking distance in the end.  We controlled the whole game....and had to overcome injuired, tired players and the refs.  All im saying is let the Heat win on their own if they are so good.  Dont act like you didnt see it...

Re: 2 years running the refs give the series away

    2 games in Boston: Heat 47 total foul shots (23.5/game) - Celtics 46 (23/game)
    3 games in Miami: Heat 110 (37/game) - Celtics 64 (21/game)
The Heat averaged 57% more foul shots/game at home, while the Celtics averaged 10% more at home. Do the heat really drive to the hoop, make good upfakes and otherwise draw fouls that much more at home? do the Celtics tend to foul that much more on the road?

Another analysis (total foul shots in each series):
    Atlanta 106 (21/game), Chicago 107 (21/game) after 5 games.
    Mavs/Lakers 80 (20/game) each after 4 games.
    Celts/Heat 110 (22/game) to 157 (31/game) after 5 games.
A common explanation for all the teams (expect the heat) averaging 21/fouls game while the heat averaged 48% more at 31/game is the heat drive to the basket more with LeBron and Wade, which is true, and they get a lot of calls, which is true.  Also, the "home cooking" differential I noted above for the Heat versus the Celtics is another huge deviation, statistically speaking.

    JayShizzle45 - What you said...

During Krstic foul on Wade, a camera was pointing to Doc.  He seemed to say to the ref something like "Com'on they don't need your help!" That foul was so pathetic.  The bad part was that the ref behind him (Krstic) made the call whilst the ref in front with the clear view didn't make the call.  The ref should be able to over rule one another.  I missed the day when there were only 2 referees.  With the 3 referees, the number of bad fouls increased by a great factor.

If so, can someone explain why the Boston journalists and talk show hosts aren't discussing this? They are all saying that the Celtics had no chance in this series. An older team needs a deep bench; which the C's ruined by letting Posey, Perkins, and T. Allen (who would have stopped Wade) go, and signing Green, Cristic, and O'Neal (who broke down). These posters are just a bunch of whining sour grape laden crybabies. Nothing is more pathetic than blaming the refs.

[QUOTE]STOP this, please.  We are not lakers fans!! We got beat, they were better, NO excuses.  You guys sound like a bunch of whiny children. Were the refs responsible for the 16-0 run the Heat went on in the 4th quarter?  We took all jump shots, guys, that's what happens.  Refs can't shoot for us!! Please stop this nonsense and accept the VERY difficult reality that we lost to the better team!!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: 2 years running the refs give the series away : When you barely win a Game 7 at home and it's because you get to a free throw line 21 times out of nowhere in the final qtr, a win like that will be questioned forever. Please stop.  Even the most deluded Laker fan can't say "we were the much better team in the 2010 Finals" when you barely win at home like that, especially under those circumstances. Boston totally outplayed the  Lakers in that Game 7 and were aided by David Stern's desire to sell more Kobe shirts in China. The refs changed how they officiated that game. On a dime. No debate.

Really? Then how come the Boston media has hardly discussed this, beyond criticizing fans who blame the refs? Game 7 last yr was won by Phil Jax; the series this yr vs the Heat was lost by not having a deep enough quality bench (such as T. Allen, Perkins, & Posey vs Green, Cristic, West, Davis, & a broken down Shaq) to support an older team. The later phases of games 4 & 5 illustrates this. Your fandom has made you delusional.
