[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Ainge opened the door, will he walk through it? : "ALOT of offers". Like what? It would have to be a very good player for DA to give up our #1 in this draft (esp. if we are not a playoff team at the deadline) plus we'd have to take back at least annother player to make salaries work so that player would liekly have to be an expiring contract as well reducing the value of the other team including him in the trade. assuming the other team is a playoff team, they would have to be willing to give up this hypothetical player thinking KG is an upgarde... Who exactly would this be...? My comment wsa really focused on people yelling at DA to blow it up and trade... when his best course of action to blow it up is to let the contracts expire. I am all for a better option - but it has to be realistic or it's just a waste of time... Please help me understand what combination of $20million in salaries the other team is going to offer us for KG (PP maybe) and our #1 that is going to make DA more comfortable moving forward than having maximum payroll flexibility (which will be gone or severely hampered) and the draft pick... I don't see it. That is why I ask the question...

If I understand what you're saying, I agree. I think the current course of action, letting this team do what it will as constituted, is the most likely scenario.
I can't see anyone giving the C's something good for KG, the C's would need to take back contracts (likely non-expiring ones) and unless it's a significant building piece why would both teams do it? The other team thinks that KG is the missing piece? I don't see that happening. The C's can let KG walk and use his salary slot.
Pierce? Can they get a significant rebuilding piece and draft pick for him? If they trade him, what does that say to KG and Ray? Sorry, you can play out the year, but we're rebuilding?
Ray? Maybe they can get something for him, but it would have to be a good young player and I can't think of the team who would take Ray over a promising young player right now. Is he the final piece for a contender? I don't think so.
They already tried with Rondo, enough said there.
I think this team is the team we'll see for the entire year. Ainge would do a deal if the right one came up, but I'm having trouble seeing just what that deal is.
