IF Utah lets Mo Williams walk, they need a PG.  We might need to add another player, but Rondo for Jefferson would be a good deal for both teams:

Bradley, Lee, Green, KG and Jefferson

Terry, Crawford, Pierce, Sully and Wilcox

A pretty solid groups with this year's #1 pick thrown in

wouldn't that  have to be sign and trade next year?

another option that I like more is Al Horford from Atlanta for Rondo.

doubt either one is going to happen though

Yes, actually the time to make this deal has passed.  We will probably not be able to do a sign and trade if we offer the MLE to someone like Perk.

Good idea but not possible because of salary cap restrictions.

Big Al can't be traded anymore because he's an expiring contract. The only way the Celts get him, after the trade deadline last Feb., is to sign him as unrestricted FA. But since the Celts are over the cap, the Celts now have no shot at signing Big Al.

Maybe if the Celts trade Pierce, but the Rondo, Pierce, Green, Big Al, and KG lineup you want is not possible.

Sign and trade. You compile of bunch of salaries that equal Al's first year of his deal. It would be tough but it could still work. I don't know why you don't understand the concept of a sign and trade.

Melo may not be ready for at least another year.  Danny really needs to add another big man for next season.  We have needed another big man since Perk left.

Sign and trades can't be done after Year 2 of the new CBA for teams over the lux tax, or teams that have already used the MLE.  I posted the link earlier.

I believe the C's are under the lux tax becuse they used the full MLE this year.

I think it depends how far under the lux tax you are.  There is like a 4 mil window....and I also think if you use your MLE that year, you are disqualified from sign and trades.  Not 100% sure I'm right, but I do know after the second year of the new CBA there is a limit on sign and trades.

Sure, but we can give this kid a chance next year to produce...off the bench..

maybe as the third Center...a natural shot blocker...

add Rondo and you really have something. Couldn't happen though unless Bass and Melo went.

    Re: Al Jefferson

So let's get this right.. Rondo, who's on a bargain contract coming off injury, and an all star pg, and one of the top pg in the league, plus melo, and the celtic's 1st rounder for al jefferson, who is a fa, is older than rondo, will cost more in $, and is having his worst year in the last 3 years, and still doesn't play defense?

This is your idea of a great trade?

The fact rondo is an allstar pg with a great contract gives you leverage to do a chris paul type deal - young talented player and picks, because he's under control. Remember Paul had to resign 1 extra year for that deal to go down, where Rondo is already signed and is not at the max.
