Anyone else sad about the Lakers?

I feel like if the Lakes win the next two games and steal the 8th spot from the Utah Jazz who may well win their next two games as well, it will be a tragedy.

I think the Jazz are more deserving of the playoffs.

lakers are better right now than the Jazz, c'mon guys.

By beating the Spurs, though, they have almost punched their ticket to play the Thunder in the first round......................and get their grill caved in!!

Definitely agree with you.  They have been playing better recently but not sure how many games they will win in the playoffs.

Of course the Lakers will deserve it if they get it.  That was a heck of a win last night sans Kobe.

Not a lakers fan either but can strangely identify with putting all eggs in one basket with veterans and then it going south when the superstar goes down. don't like kobe's lakers' colors or weasel personal life but his drive and belief and taking on of responsiblity made me envy laker fans.

    You are in the minority.
Maybe apathy has really set in after 1 championship in 27 years.

This is a thread about the lakers, though - try to stay on point, Tommy!!!

The Lakers are better without Kobe! The record proofs it^^

Obviously there is not much of a sample size to back up this statement, since Kobe has missed very little playing time in his career.

Obviously, this was a joke, cause we have discussed similiar things all year long.

Re: Anyone else sad about the Lakers?

Actually, if the Lakers do win out they will get the 7 spot since winning out means beating the Rockets Wednesday tying them record wise, and head to head wise, leaving the 2nd tie-breaker to the Lakers, which means they would play San Antonio in the opener, and they will have a darn good chance of beating them even without Kobe, but that would probably neccesitate getting Nash back by then.

And btw, when you have by far the most appearances in the playoffs than anyone else, having only missed, I think 5 times, you're bound to have just about every playoff record there is, including being swept. If you rarely or never make it you can't win or get swept.

The playoffs are always better with the Celtics and the Lakers in.  I know it, you know it and David Stern sure as hell knows it.  They'll be there (and then will get crushed).  It would be pretty funny if they missed the playoffs and didn't get their lottery pick though.
